pete2528ca
I would be careful with that...reason being is that the swiss movements of late don't have the incabloc shock protection on the balance wheel, but the novodoc... and with saying that i am going to post a picture on a thread too to see... PAMman
The Swiss incablock, used in the higher grade Swiss movements looks different to this so I suspect that it's an Asian shock protection system. Also the balance wheel has the flared spokes of the Asian high beat movement and, to me anyway, the balance wheel seems to be the smaller 21,600 type. My opinion is that it may be 100% non-Swiss, but then we must remember that all Panerai-style movements, including all based on Swiss, will contain a significant level of non-Swiss or Asian parts. Which is best? A Swiss movement heavily modified with non-original parts or a purpose-built Asian movement? I don't know the answer because my interest lies with the earlier, solid caseback models and all mine have 100% unaltered Swiss (mostly higher grade CdG decorated) movements. Look at the plate ( that holds the balance shaft ! ) under the balance and it looks VERY different in shape compared to the one on the swiss movements! It is NOT the two "steering pins" that the movement below has ! see this swiss movement ( 18 000 bph ! ) http://www.trustytime88.com/index.php?main...cb5525214115029
Quick Brick
I don't believe Andrew has any of these in stock, nor does Josh. These have been long gone for a while. I think if you found one, you would expect to pay a premium for it.
