This is not a quiz - I am trying to figure it out. I got this deployant with an F series gen which I believe is one of the first series with deployants. It looks very different from my subsequent daylights and has no release tabs. It just clicks in. Now the watch did not come with box but did come with gen rubber strap. Is this the first generation deployant or a rep? What do you think?:

That is my guess as well. It is a little more dimunitive and elegant than the typical deployant and does look really good with a croc strap. If it is a rep Panerai could learn something.

Hi Kruzer, from the engraving, its a GEN. if you ever hold any Gen engraving next to any version of REPs, you can see the distinct differences in their appearance. And the missing tab is also a give away. :) I Myself thought that when I first got mine. ;) Enjoy it, and congrats!

Yes Sir, it's a gen. It's the early style and I agree it's dressy with a croco. And to answer Fish, I've never seen an A series (2 screw) rep buckle.
