bwhitesox Posted May 21, 2008 Report Posted May 21, 2008 Not being all that knowledgeable about Panerais I want to know what the JF kit could best be used for. I have the complete kit including crownguard and a gen handwind crown and want the best most accurate dial for this case. Apologies in advance if this has been asked 1000 times before but I couldn't find the info.
ta8088 Posted May 21, 2008 Report Posted May 21, 2008 It can't really be used for much of anything. I think you should just cut your loses and sell it to me
PAMman Posted May 21, 2008 Report Posted May 21, 2008 Not being all that knowledgeable about Panerais I want to know what the JF kit could best be used for. I have the complete kit including crownguard and a gen handwind crown and want the best most accurate dial for this case. Apologies in advance if this has been asked 1000 times before but I couldn't find the info. Jimmy Fu's case is a 1:1 copy of his 01D so is correct for the D series handwinds. Post-takeover Panerai (Vendome) outsourced their components to a succession of different suppliers and there may be marginal differences between the cases of the preA to D series but nothing worth talking agonising about. Therefore the most accurate dial for you case will be a gen 001, 002, 003 or 010 dial i.e. either black or white, base or Marina and either the
bwhitesox Posted May 21, 2008 Author Report Posted May 21, 2008 WOW thankyou very much for the great info Pamman. LOL @TA8088
messenius Posted May 21, 2008 Report Posted May 21, 2008 There seems to be different views about on which series jimmy's parts are based. When I got mine I asked this from jimmy and he told me they are F-series. I have no reason to doudt this, but it would be nice to hear if somenone has more detailed knowledge on this
Watchmeister Posted May 21, 2008 Report Posted May 21, 2008 I think he told me C series. I have to agree with PAMman on his choices. Here is an 03 with gen crown, all Jimmy and gen hands next to a gen. And if you are nice to me I may even have a spare set of black marina tritium hands. But you have to find the dial first.
bwhitesox Posted May 21, 2008 Author Report Posted May 21, 2008 Shoot me a PM Kruzer when you have a minute and we'll have a chat.
archibald Posted May 22, 2008 Report Posted May 22, 2008 Can anyone ID the most correct logo caseback? I have one that's #616 that looks really, really good but if there's a better one, I'd be all over it.
