Crown Alignment ?

Recommended Posts

I've just recieved a 1950 from Davidsen, and it initally looks like a great piece. I'll get some images and do a review soon...

However, my question is quite generic, but relates to a few PAM watches i've purchased recently and I'd be interested in getting your feedback...

When winding a PAM (which has a crown guard), do you find that the crown itself is not aligned correctly. As such, when you do wind, the crown moves in and out by a few mm's.

so rather than being at 90 degrees, its at a small angle....

-/ instead of -|

is this typical of all PAM reps or is it just the few that i've recently purchased ??

Cheers

On any automatic Pam, it is a long way from the crown to the movement. Big case, small movement, long winding stem. So the crown is likely to wobble. Treat it gently...

I'd be concerned if this happened on a 6947 Pam, though. Like a 111 or 183.

On a Fiddy, well... it's a long way from the crown to the movement
