vootzilla Posted July 14, 2008 Report Posted July 14, 2008 I always see the gen PAM on others' wrists and feel that they're more shiny than the rep... so I think this is sth that could be done easily by ourlselves... but I don't know which type of chemical or materials I should use to polish the stainless case... can any one share some ideas of how to make ur watch more shiny?? any easy ways?? Maybe this is a stupid question but I guess some of u can share ur method to the newbie like me. thanks
Sweattdogg Posted July 14, 2008 Report Posted July 14, 2008 Try to polish with a Cap Cod cloth. This will give the stainless as much shine as possible and also take out any hairline scratches This should may make the steel look shiner. The steel used in most rep cases is the same grad as used by Panerai unless I'm mistaken. I know that Rolex Stainless will look a little different, because they use Stainless with a slightly different nickel content.
slay Posted July 14, 2008 Report Posted July 14, 2008 rolex uses 904L Stainless Steel, but Panerai uses the same steel repmakers use (AFAIK)
fakemaster Posted July 15, 2008 Report Posted July 15, 2008 Cape Cod won't give ou a mirror finish but it will look nicer.
supermanx Posted July 15, 2008 Report Posted July 15, 2008 Cape Cod won't give ou a mirror finish but it will look nicer. Cape cod on a dremel will take out the fine scratches that prevent you from having a flawless mirrored surface, but if the surface is rough to begin with, try some jewelers rouge.
