jdimarco Posted August 7, 2008 Report Posted August 7, 2008 hey there everyone, i am posting again because i wanted to get everyones opinion on a base pam. I am lusting over a simple radiomir base and am wondering if anyone has had experience with these watches made with Asian movements? I have recently been told that they don't make the swiss movements for them anymore:( But i am wondering if anyone has had a good experience with an Asian movement? please, any advice would be so greatly appreciated. thanks again guys. fitmic Posted August 7, 2008 Report Posted August 7, 2008 The asian hand wind movements are really good.

fitmic Posted August 8, 2008 Report Posted August 8, 2008 okay, so i should go with a hand wind movement ONLY??? let me know thanks In my opinion, YES!
chubbchubb Posted August 8, 2008 Report Posted August 8, 2008 okay, so i should go with a hand wind movement ONLY??? let me know thanks All PAM base (Luminor / Radiomir) use 6497 and all 6497 based movements (swiss or asian) are handwind by design.
old skool Posted August 8, 2008 Report Posted August 8, 2008 t, who has a LOT of experience and I mean a LOT, with the 6497 movements, states very clearly that the level of detail and quality are just not close to the Swiss ones. Since the pricing difference, about $50, is so small, it would be my advice to get the Swiss. This is especially considering the movements may become more rare and/or more expensive in the near future.
