A question for 40mm PAM modders

Chicken Manny

Recommended Posts

I'm pretty sure the 40mm PAMs use the smaller cyclops which is what I produced in my last run... you bought some right?

Hell, I have so many cyclops sitting around here I don't know. :D

I bought some from you a little while back but I thought those were for 44mm. I will send you a PM.

I need to drop off a bag o' watches for you anyway.

Cheers,

CM

Cyclops diameter looks 5.8mm in the gen, 5.5mm in the rep.

@ sssurfer- I have no idea how you came up with that but thank you for your expertise!

For the rep, I just measured the cyclops on my 050 rep.

For the gen, I measured any good 048 and 050 pics I have here. I mean, measuring the case diameter in pixels, then the cyclops diameter in pixels as well, then putting them in proportion as we know that the case is 40mm.

Then taking the mean of the different calculations on the different pics.

Not an absolutely precise method, still decent to get a hint after a few pics.

Also, please consider that even Officine Panerai changed the size of their cyclops while time passed, making them larger on the later series. It is very possible that a late 050 may have a 6mm cyclops.

Should I assume standard 7750 PAM DW and Font?

I do not know nor see any reason why you shouldn't.

I'm trying to put together the ultimate 50 for the wifey. :D

Congrats, and best wishes on your project!
