Krayfish
Hi there, I really love the look of the ROLEX SUBMARINER 2008 SUPREME EDITION 1:1 that PT posted in his seciton. I also want to buy my wife the rolex date just silver diamond dial..... Now I would appreciate it if you were patient with me as I'm really trying my best to learn about these watches, and have looked ALL over the site but am very confused now! My main questions are: these two watches from PT Are they waterproof? Will they last as a watch and are they reliable? the movement quotes mean nothing to me! Is the glass Sapphire crystal, the etching on the mens rolex looks fantastic. What is the movement as the Silver Decorated Swiss ETA 2836-2 Automatic 25 Jewels means NOTHING to me! I love this style of Rolex for the men......and the GMT Master II Ceramic Bezel, can you reccomend which one would be the best buy for quality and reliability on PT's website (www.ptswiss.com) would it be best to just stick with the first one I asked about due to the fact it has just the normal Hr Min and Sec hands to go wrong? The reason I want to buy from PT is I'm located in the UK and want to keep it simple. Also he has very good feedback and what looks like really great quality watches. Sorry for all the questions, Steve Edited October 20, 2008 by Steviejay01

casanile
Hi Stevie, On this board, you'll have all the answers you need. My advice is read, read and read again, all the questions you're asking have been already answered almost 100 times at least... Almost nobody will answer to you because of that, if you read the introduction to RWG, you'll check that easily... There is a comparo between the watch you seek and other great Rolex reps, read it. But for a short answer, reps like this one are waterproofed, they NEVER last like a gen but they are good. The movement? pff... ETA 2836-2 is the common mov. used for this kind of watch. Long story, I repeat again, read... But if you are going to pay for a swiss ETA 2836-2, be sure it is, ask your seller and inform yourself. The swiss ETA and the Asian ETA is one of the most discussed topic here. PT is a trustful seller like the others on this board. Make your own choice of your dealer and stay with him if it works fine for you... My 2 cents...

Yea thats fair enough, I can understand where your coming from, its just I have read quite a lot of stuff and its just confused me more and more....people taking bits of to replace with original parts, different movements locking up or not working, different grades not being advertised on the sellers site or discriptions.......its just a minefield. I've read By-Tor's reviews, was reading for hours last night, I guess I'm just excited that I will be getting a couple of them if I can get hold of PT. Thanks for your reply thought mate.
