cht
Hi, I am glad I found this site! I have been obsessed with learning about watches recently! I am interested in the history of clocks, wristwatches, swiss watches, and timekeeping etc I am even more fascinated with automatic movements and their elegance. I am amazed how resonating quartz crystals at 32,768 hz can be divided electronically by 2's to get a nice 1 hz movement. Unfortunately, this comes at a bad time because I am in the middle of my medical school education! This is my new passion and I am looking forward to learning a lot, so all help is welcome. Just thought I'd say hi! Chris
whitestripes
Welcome Chris! I am a pre-med, and have gone on a couple of interviews around the country, including one so far in the mid-west. I've got my fingers crossed on getting into one. We all love watches, but this is a rep site-- you got any reps in mind? In the slim chance we end up at the same school, it'd be nice to have a fellow WIS and rep WIS! adrenalin
Dude, Welcome to the forum! Do yourself a favor.... become a professional golfer instead... Just make sure that you choose a subspecialty that ends in "-ology".... No matter who becomes president, medicine is gonna suck for a while for the primary care guys. -Ologists will get hit during the second term. Take your mind off it and enjoy the forum -K
cht
^^^^I know... and to top it off I am going to be >200K in debt when I graduate. Welcome Chris! I am a pre-med, and have gone on a couple of interviews around the country, including one so far in the mid-west. I've got my fingers crossed on getting into one. We all love watches, but this is a rep site-- you got any reps in mind? In the slim chance we end up at the same school, it'd be nice to have a fellow WIS and rep WIS! thanks for the warm welcome guys! Yeah, I realize this is a replica site. I'm a DIYer kinda guy and I find interest in creating a quality replica. It's just seems fun to me. I LOVE the attention to detail. Having a real Rolex is great and I appreciate it for different things. But I also like "making" one too, and have that feeling of I did that. (with the help of here of course!) I am really fascinated with the history of the Sea Dweller and the Submariner. The red submariner and double red sea dwellers have great hx and uniqueness to them. And in all honesty, the people on this forum seem to know more about details of Rolex watches than the actual owners. I love the smallest details.... And being into replicas is a good way to focus in on those details. And good luck on getting in! I'm glad all that is over with, undergrad, MCAT, LOC's, essays, admissions, etc. Stay focused and dedicated!
