kronos twin Posted November 13, 2008 Report Posted November 13, 2008 Hello all, I just found a very nice elgin movement on ebay for a very very low price, and lo and behold it works great. I am tinkering with the idea of getting it put into a panerai case with a sterile dial. The movement measures 44mm. Will this fit into any panerai case? Here's a pic so you get an idea. I have seen wonderful cortebert and angelus movements placed in your watches on this site, but I wondered if another movement from an earlier era might fit. Thanks. kt
earlgrey-erfurt Posted November 13, 2008 Report Posted November 13, 2008 Nice Movement but too big But thats not the biggest problem , the small problems wights more, i.e. Hands will not fit, hights of the cannion pin might be to low, same minute and hourwheel, Stem size..... and so on and on cheers helmut
kronos twin Posted November 14, 2008 Author Report Posted November 14, 2008 thank you, good sir. I am out of my league on a project such as this for now. I will most likely find a case and dial that corresponds with this movement though. It's to beautiful to let sit.
