takashi
I have heard rumors about this at the start of Baselworld 2008. What makes it worst is ETA competitors such as Sellita also has trouble keeping up with demands. I have to agree it should be slowing down now due to global financial crisis but I have yet to see much of high end watch sales got affected (perhaps not so soon)... What make it worst is, they are aware of high end reps utilizing genuine ETA movement too.... So, probably more background check on potential customers. ETA may not even sell those Top grade movement for watchmaker/independent watchmaker outside Switzerland (legit or otherwise). Solution: stick to Asian movement
