Gents,

I have the good luck to have sourced a gen dial and hands for a PAM 104. So know comes the fun part, deciding which rep parts to use. So here are my primary questions. Anyone that can help I would be greatly appreciative. :D

Case: Would a DSN case fit the dial? I seem to remember that his dials are sized differently but I don't know if it affects this model. What would be the best option?

Movement: I assume the 7750 P-1 rep movement suffers from the same hand fitment issue as the standard A7750. If so, has anybody stripped down a Swiss 7750 into this configuration? What was involved?

Lastly, for you PAM experts, is the gen CG for the auto different than the Gen handwind CG? I know the crown if different but I'm not sure about the CG.

A big thanks to all the experts for your assistance! :D

Manny, I am more versed in the Historic Manual winds than the Contemporary Automatics but I would expect that your dial will work with either 7750 since the gen OP movement is a 7750 base.

I would suggest going with the Cartel Ultimate 104 case and use a T-48 Crown,,,I think you are going to run into less issues than starting with a DSN case which always seem to be a crap shoot.

Since you have the Gen hands, you should be OK with a Swiss 7750 - as to which A7750 would be the best fit, I would have to defer to Ziggy.

My 090 Franken used a Gen OPIX movement (7750 base) and we used a standard Rep case with the 7750 movement spacer and all worked fine. I had to have a Gen dial though to fit properly. The A7750 Rep dial would not line up correctly...

Sounds like a great Franken in the works. Look forward to seeing the results.

Thanks for the reply!

I think I will keep it safe and go with the cartel 104. I hate to pay for a bunch of stuff that is just going to be stripped off but I guess it's the best option available.

The part I'm still trying to figure out is the 7750 P1. I suspect there are special hand stems to adjust for the altered thickness of the 7750 without the chrono module. If you simply remove the chrono module off a swiss 7750 I'm not sure if it would work. I figured someone had done this mod before but maybe not.

I think somebody just needs to sell me a gen movement! :D
