Broken Release Mechanism

Hello,

During a fix for my Omega Planet Ocean, I was removed the crown pin to access the movement. During re-assembly I pushed the release mechanism botton too hard and it shot through the movement. The botton is not visible and is probably near the bottom of the movement. How can I fix this?

I have read this thread, but it is easier seen than to fix.

Has anyone else had luck fixing the release crown pin mechaism without the removal of the hand set and dial? I am unable to remove the hand set to begin with. Maybe I am just a newbie?

At this point the crown pin does not lock into place and therefore, I cannot set the time and date.

Is there an easier fix to this?
