modelizer Posted May 2, 2009 Report Posted May 2, 2009 Hi everyone! Ordered my first rep from Warcheden which unfortunately is held in customs at the moment. Need advice from you experienced Swedish rep bying members (preferably by PM) as I don't think the Watcheden suggestion of getting it released will do the trick (rather get me in trouble). Any help would be much appreciated! /modelizer.

slask111 Posted May 2, 2009 Report Posted May 2, 2009 I have had an Ebel stuck in Swedish customs and they wanted to know the value. Got a letter home saying contact customs, reps may be illegal yadiyada. My explanation was that a friend sent me a gift, dont know what it is but he told me it was worth around 50$ bla bla. I had to pay 12$ in VAT and it was released to me immediately.
modelizer Posted May 2, 2009 Author Report Posted May 2, 2009 Thanks for sharing your experience Slask! I might be going for that one. One question though, do you know if the customs already had opened the package and knew it was a watch (but didn't have a clue about the Ebel brand) when contacting you?
slask111 Posted May 2, 2009 Report Posted May 2, 2009 The letter they sent me stated it was a watch. They didnt mention what brand though. Ebel is not the biggest brand out there so that might have helped.
modelizer Posted May 3, 2009 Author Report Posted May 3, 2009 Thanks concepta, ASCIWhite, Slask111 and 801run for your time, thoughts and suggestions.. I'm very grateful! I have now made up my mind on what to do trying to solve the problem. Will post an update when I know the outcome.. /modelizer.
modelizer Posted May 5, 2009 Author Report Posted May 5, 2009 (edited) Finally the 21j Milgauss is on my wrist! Without having to pay customs fee or tax! EDITED upon request. klocklind1: I am keeping my fingers crossed for you pal! /modelizer. Edited May 6, 2009 by Stephane Removed a tip...
fitmic Posted May 6, 2009 Report Posted May 6, 2009 I suggest my fellow Swedes NOT to post how-to-fool-customs on this board. Let's do it in PMs! Remember, when creating a fake receipt is a far worse crime than ordering a rep!
modelizer Posted May 6, 2009 Author Report Posted May 6, 2009 Point taken fitmic! Can some mod please edit my previous post and delete the solution text? Can't find a way to do it myself.. Thanks! /modelizer.
