Samurai Posted May 29, 2009 Report Posted May 29, 2009 My DSN Fiddy with Swiss E had some problems so sent it back to him. He replaced the movement and I got back the Fiddy yesterday. Noticed that the movement stops @ around 12.20 mark. When I move the hands a bit....it starts working and then stops again when it's 12.20. Any idea on what could be the problem....and are such problems common with new Swiss E movements? I am still debating whether to send this back to DSN yet again or if its something simple....get it fixed locally. Any inputs will be greatly appreciated. Cheers
Logan Posted May 29, 2009 Report Posted May 29, 2009 Its almost certainly dirt inside the movement somewhere. It only takes the tiniest spec to jamb a cog. Its probably best not to force the movement past this. What feels gentle to you could be doing damage inside.
siesta181 Posted May 29, 2009 Report Posted May 29, 2009 I guess you can try opening a dialogue with DSN..... I will however just send it to a local watchsmith. Sending it back could mean going for months without your treasure timepiece.
Samurai Posted May 29, 2009 Author Report Posted May 29, 2009 DSN responded saying I can send it back or get it repaired locally. I guess I'll take it to my guy in Singapore and have him take a look. So much for the new Swiss E movement
klocklind1 Posted May 29, 2009 Report Posted May 29, 2009 Maybe it is the hands that touches each other so it stops where the hands meet each other?? Because it stops at the SAME tome every day that CAN absolutely be the problem!!!
Samurai Posted May 29, 2009 Author Report Posted May 29, 2009 I am gonna take it to a local guy on Monday and have him look @ it. Sonar wanna send it back to HKG again
