davis3
Hello, my first post. BTW I have learned more in reading some of this forum than any other watch forum i belong to. Unique situation: I purchased a gen Montblanc XL sport chrono 7750 "parts" on ebay. model # 03274. it included a case , crystal, bezel, dirty-somewhat corroded 7750 movement , dial, hands. It was missing: crown, stem, caseback, gasket, and about 8 parts to the 7750 including the weight. (in my estimation a new movement is called for plus you cant buy the signed weight) Condition: case- tore up- tube threads burred, top thread for caseback damaged. [censored] for gasket damaged -but could be dremeled ok..... looked kind of like this watch dropped in a grinder or something. pushers work fine. crystal good, bezel ok-some damage on trim ring but serviceable. so basically, to build this,I need: a. new movement b. case back and gasket c. crown and stem d. repair of parts to make them serviceable. so, my questions are these: a. in your opinions, would a rep montblanc have a crown , caseback that would fit a gen case? I cant afford gen parts nor do i know an independent watchmaker who can purchase gen parts only from the service center and not charge me a fortune..... b. would an asian 7750 movement work till i could afford a gen 7750 movement? are there different grades of asian 7750's? like pearlage etc. c. best place to buy the best quality rep of this model. d. best place to purchase a gen 7750 movement for down the road. any help is appreciated. Ihave lots of pictures but not sure how to upload yet. thanks in advance for replys. adavis3rd texas usa
