V Posted July 31, 2006 Report Posted July 31, 2006 Various stuff here I managed to 'collect'... 1. Rep cases taper from 7mm to the middle to 6mm at the ends. The historic cases (111, 112, 005 etc etc) should be 7mm width from top to bottom. 2. SILIX cheap Asian 115$ pams with mineral glass have REAL AR COATING. Don't know if they advertise it like that but they have. (Check some guys post yesterday who said that he bought a Silix pam and throw away his old 036) 3. 111, 112 sandwich dials have different font on the 2 (of 12) and thinner than the genuine. (And I don't mean the ugly radiomir first versions) 4. Rep Crown guards are sloppy BUT it doesn't mean they should have much more resistance. Finepics JimmyFU guard I have checked is too hard to open. 5. Crowns bigger than 2mm are too thick 6. Something it has been discussed before.. Colour on the dial should be beige and not pure white (again on historic models) That's it for now... More tomorrow (Been too busy today and haven't been at home)
fahfahfooey Posted July 31, 2006 Report Posted July 31, 2006 Thanks, V. Nice assortment of very pertinent details. These are really helpful and I bet they answer a lot of questions before they are asked.
