  1. this is a good chance to quote this funny paragraph: "You may actually be the biggest [censored] to have ever written in to me. My opinion on diamond encrusted watches for men is that they should be dismembered immediately and any man who is caught admiring them should lose an eye by way of spoon. There is nothing more disgusting than taking a fine watch, a work of micro-engineering and art, and covering it with jewels. I won’t even give you something to consider because there is nothing worth buying at all." ....Watch Snob

  2. Here we are, Phong case back : To me, one of the big flaws is the problem of padding on the characters. Especially on the word "VALVE". Still a very good case back, we need to compare it with the Minh's one Cheers, R.

  7. thanks all for the continued encouragement. this is priced to compete directly with and replace MBKs offerings $399 - $450 depending on final costs of this little endeavour. im currently working on a 1680 case, then a tudor snowflake (some of you may have seen the less than accurate prototype to that already, its getting there) a 5513 is obvisouly my base for these so having that case is obvious, my 1680 however WILL fit a gen sized 1680 dial UNLIKE the MBK. after that im going to try and tackle an affordable yet 1:1 5510 case ( i have no idea how this project will work out) and lastly a 5517 which *shouldnt* be too hard since the base will be the same 5513 case but modified as a 5517, much preliminary research and collaboration is still needed for this one. i am also going to attempt a proper affordable 93150 bracelet, since there are no real good options that currently exist. i might just try the mid bracelet or a mid bracelet and clasp, hopefully the latter but probably not 580s in this mix (at least for a while) ambitious, i know i realise the picture of the dial was a bit blurry so i took a couple more, i assure you the markers are creamy white NOT yellow (white balance issues). grabbed a 1680 dial as well installed on an ETA movement to test the fitment. i *might* refine the COMEX caseback further. im in the process of purchasing a number punch after determining the correct sized number engravings for the back some more pics (crystal is shorter and more rounded than the MBK 5513)

  9. Frankly I don't buy into what is said here. "A passion for classic mechanical machines"? With an Asian 21-J movement faking a Patek? "not about status"? Why dont people buy an original Seagull Tourbillon instead of a Rolex fake? If we are honest a lot of the fascination actually comes form the brand. And the brand has a lot to do with its proclaimed status and lifestyle.
