Hi guys, Ken, my life is like a hell lately. I lost my job 4 months ago (financial crisis in Greece and companies cut their expenses by firing people with the speed of a rocket...), job things were going wrong since 2009 though... can't find a new job here in Greece, nobody hires anymore, thinking very seriously to migrate to an English spoken country, my long relationship with a woman ended one month after i lost my job, i don't know what else is waiting for me at the corner. I was looking my bookmarks on my laptop and i started to bethink the old good times i had here, the conversations, anything... The more free time i have (and i have a lot now) the more it gets worse. I met a new girl a couple of months ago (a Romanian girl living in Greece), she knew that i'm unemployed but she started the relation with me, i believed in her, she left too... I've never been in a worse position in my life. And i don't really know how to overcome this. That's all my news and they are not good at all.

Demsey, the old rwg was brought down many times and received many threats just because of the dealers section. Any of sites like this are subject to be targeted like that when illegal goods trading is involved. So anyone would think: Since it's all about the dealers section that puts this site into trouble then why not the dealers fund the costs for running the forum secure and trouble free? (End of addressing this to Demsey - below goes to all) Then the dealers would think: we not running our own forum sites and pay for our own site? -BINGO. Now we're f*****. What do we do now? -Well, the only option is member donation. Fine. We'll do that. -And what about those members who don't want/can't pay donations? -Well, this is a free site. We don't want to ban freebies. -But the other members who pay? shouldn't they be [censored] off? -Well some of them they may do. -But why? isn't their decision to support this forum? -Hell yes, but you know how it is..."why do you take it for free while i pay for it?" -Well, i never asked for it to be free. You gave it free so i'm here trying to contribute in other ways than my wallet. -Well OK. But you touch only the cake on the left (the one with the old raspberry's smell). The cake on the right is for the premiums. -... -... End of conversation. That's the reason i silently moved away and i'm sure i'm not missed to anyone. Did i miss you? Well most of you yes. But i already missed TRC, old RWG...but they don't exist anymore. Well i missed TTK too (although i had mixed feelings for his posts...) but TTK is not here anymore and i'm not sure why. Well it's not always a win-win situation and you can't have everything. Problem is that: I'm a member of: 2 car forums 5 motorcycle forums 3 rep forums (including this one) 4 legal watches forums 3 HiFi HighEnd audio forums 2 turntable/vinyl forums 2 electronic circuits forums 3 Computer IT related forums (my job) 24 forums already and and old member on at least half of them. Sorry but my wallet is not that big. And i got helpful information to my hobbies/job from all the above forums (and tried to give as well). They all deserve my donation, i simply can't do that. Call me a freebie, no offense taken because i know i'm not. cya. P.S. AllergyDoc you got some guts there. More than i have. Thanks for the opportunity, you know what...

Hi people, i received today an adverstisement to my hotmail account. It has nothing to do with rep watches but i have reasons to believe that it comes from those channels... They dont't state if their products are genuine or anything else, the only thing they say is that their products are great -> laughing out loud... Can you check and tell me your opinion? Their laptop prices are very tempting but i am not sure what's inside the site

Hi guys, My friend's noobmariner ETA 2836-2 Swiss stopped working... He has no tools so he asked me to open up his watch caseback and see if there is some obvious damage. I explained to him that the only things i'm capable to check for are: 1) if the hands are stuck (which are not) and 2) if something is blocking the balance wheel from swinging back and forth. I opened the caseback, removed the rotor and, i can't see any obvious damage like a broken gear or something. But, as i was suspecting, the balance wheel does not swing (although the watch is wound). I can't see anything blocking it though. When i give it a move with a toothpick it swings freely for a couple rounds and then stops. Any ideas? P.S. i realize that the movement may have a damage that needs a watch-smith to fix it. I just post here in case there is a common issue with the 2836-2 stop working that i could handle with my very limited movements knowledge.

Demsey, greetings! Thanks so much for your response. Actually USPS re-routed the package to U.K. for delivery to its correct destination. To be honest I was 80% sure that it'd gonna be like that but, when you know that the package you sent to someone in Europe went to the other side of the Atlantic there are always worries. Funny thing is that although i sent the package registered (in my country this means that you have to sign to get your package), the guy from U.K. told me that the postman just left the packet outside his door! Well, lucky he is

Hi guys, i sent a registered express package to U.K. at Nov 5 2009. The guy i sent the package informed me that he didn't receive yet. So i went to my local Post Office to ask what happened and found out that the package was sent by mistake to the United States instead of United Kingdom. I checked the tracking number of the package i sent with usps.com track and trace online tool and voila the package is there, arrived at Nov 6 2009 to New York. I already e-mailed USPS explaining them that i am the sender of the packet and that the packet was destined to U.K. and not U.S.A. (arrived at U.S.A. by mistake). I asked them what can be done for this. Have you any experience on similar situations? What's gonna happen? Will USPS send back the package to me? Will they re-route it to U.K. where it should originally go? Will they play football with my packet and then trash it? I need to give an answer to the U.K. fellow about the whole situation and either refund him (it was an eBay sell) or ask him to wait few days more... Thanks in advance.

late reply but if you haven't solved your problem yet: you need to get access to the lever marked as "A" in the photo and adjust from there first. (I'd recommend before you adjust the "A" level set the +-adjusting screw to its middle position...This will give you "space" to work while fine tuning later on...) to do this u need to remove the winding rotor and its gear assembly underneath (1 screw for the rotor plus other 3 screws for the assembly under it...can't recall its name...). Then you adjust the "A" lever till you get within +-10 secs / day or so. (just a slight move of the lever should do it). From there you can fine tune it using the +- adjusting screw that you mentioned. Regards.

Welcome! I didn't manage to fulfill my mid life crisis with watches though...So i'm focused back to women. Good luck with your new hobby quest

noobmariner is the word you need to search for... Forum is full of it.

personally i wouldn't do any kind of work on this. I'd buy a new one.

if not anything else, the brushed finish of the lugs screams genuine.

First, there are lots of fake SEIKOs indeed. Second, they don't sell it for $10 or anything near this. They sell it for almost the same price (few bucks lower to make you believe it's a bargain) as the genuines using pics of genuines and sending to you the fake. Specifically about eBay, i 've read lots of reports from people who ordered SKX007s just to receive SKX0000000007WhateverYouWantNameItHere... The sellers were often power sellers and the pictures they used were of genuine pieces. If you check SEIKO related forums you will find reports as those i describe above.
