  1. yeah I was about to say what is "the RXW style case" all about? Wouldn't that mean wrong bezel and wrong crystal too? I just got TWG's Superlumed 127 deal and I'm still confident in my purchase. Its not hear yet, just shipped a day or so ago. I'll post pics when I get it. These crazy sales are great though. I was quoted more than this amount for just the movement a few weeks ago from another dealer. Cheers, Jon
  2. That doesn't even look like the 17 jewel version I have seen. Here's link to the 17 jewel 2824-2. It still has the ETA regulator w/ screw mechanism. http://www.christophlorenz.de/watch/moveme...2824_2.php?l=en To be 100% sure you'll need pictures of the engravings on the main plate below the balance wheel. Jon Oh and as far as the supposed engravings on the rotor. Those are engraved stickers that could be applied to any movement.
  3. This is beginning to look like a problem for many of our dealers. Just for the record TTK I've never purchased from you but would consider using WU if you had the right watch at the right price. I've used WU w/ Paul a couple of times and it seems pretty painless. If you walk in with cash to a WU location they only charge $14 in fees from the US. Just my 2 cents. Hope everything sorts itself out. I've had PP audit me just because of the "nature of the items I was selling" and they also said that I "circumvented the Egay fees!" They can be really demanding sometimes but as they told me, "they just want to get to know their customers." They claim that since the Xbox 360s were released last year they had many issues with people selling merchandise that they didn't actually have so now they want to know your sources of inventory too. The whole anonymity thing seems to be a security issue in PP's eyes! Good luck! Jon
  4. Great post! Wonderful shots! Jon
  5. Any cash purchases over I beleive $12000 have to be reported to the IRS. If they haven't reported that income or can't justify it, then they could get audited by them. Wonder if something like this happened and Jacob wasn't reporting the cash.
  6. If its loaded with the new 28k Asian 7750 you will more than likely have issues with the diameter of the center seconds (chronograph seconds). The second hand is smaller on the new 7750's than it is on the ETA and its older Asian counterpart. I tried to do a swap for an RWI member last week on a Navitimer Serie Speciale which now comes with the new movement and the second hand would not fit. So be weary. If its the new movement you might just want to have it serviced and leave it be, unless you can source a new second hand that will fit. If it has the old 7750b or b1 or 7750 or whatever they are calling it this week then it should be a 1:1 swap. Should be no problems except the date wheel color will be wrong. If you buy an ETA 7750 new it should come with the Day wheel, but it will have to be installed on the movement and of course it will be a black on white font. My 2 cents. Cheers, Jon
  7. Yeah never liked the Jacob line of watches. Especially when I was drooling all over the Tourneau window displays and saw that they were quartz. What crap. I guess if you are going to sell a watch to a ballerific rapper then you should request they use their American Express Centurion card which is only available to supposedly the filthy rich! I'm sure he'll beat the case though. Jon
  8. Vibrations are bad for any mechanical watch. I work on cars and when I use an impact wrench or even a drill sometimes I remove my watch to avoid vibrations. I also remove when I'm slamming a dead blow hammer! Good luck. JOn
  9. Lug size? Clasp? Love the AR though. A step in the right direction. Jon
  10. Holy crap thats horrible!
  11. Yeah, no worries its an easy fix! Jon
  12. Thanks! The dial really is beautiful. You have to see it in good daylight to really understand! Jon

Good job looks much better w/ the right movement! Jon
  14. Won't waste time with words. Just a little practice with closeups on my new to me (used digital camera)! Enjoy Jon
  15. I can do the swap for you! PM if you are interested. JOn
  16. OK couple of questions I see. 1. Yes you use special tools to remove the hands. Bought them off ebay. 2. Movement came from Ebay as well. Just type "ETA 7750" and you'll see them. There are several sellers with them from time to time. Cheers, Jon
  17. I suspected this, and mentioned in another thread. This watch really appears to be a 1:1 case, band, & clasp rep! Jon
  18. Sapphire is harder to scratch than mineral but it will scratch w/ diamonds or certain hardened steels and such. If you take a hardened steel razor blade accross the front it may still scratch. I knew a guy who did this showing off the "scratch RESISTANT" crystal, key word = resistant! Made him look like a dumb!@ss. Sapphire also shatters easier than mineral or plexi, so if you bump it up too hard against another suface it may very well shatter. Also @ Polynomial The crystals shattering is a common problem with sapphire and mineral versions. This comes from the crystal not being seated properly as Admin said. The crystal gets torqued in its seat and eventually just breaks under the pressure. Many members have stated that they woke up and looked at the watch to find it broken in their cases! Bottom line. When you get it test it or take your dealer's word. If it scratches down the road, chances are it is mineral and take it up with your dealer. If they are a good dealer they'll take care of you. Perhaps a hefty discount on your next purchase. You can use the discount funds you saved to buy an AR coated SAPPHIRE from Davidsen! Cheers JOn

  20. I'm not 100% sure how the bezels attach to the 44mm panerai, but they snap right off of the 47mm versions. So swapping the movement, crown guard, and possibly the bezel shouldn't be a problem. That is assuming the cases are made from the same factory! Best way to know is to try! Jon
  21. Why would you "shake it like a mad cow?" Jon
  22. Really sorry to hear about this! Your wife is right though. It could have turned out much much worse. Be thankful that you and your wife are alright! The guys that did this will get what is coming to them someday! Jon
