  1. Pilots chrono is a perfect stunner now! Beautiful watches! Cheers!
  2. Bezel came from Ebay. I paid $100+ for it, but didn't want to let it slip past. I saw one sell for much less a week later, but I don't care! Keep your eyes on the bay, you'll find one. People bling these out often so the gen bezels are thrown to the wayside pretty regularly. I'd like a Gen dial the most! But would consider the Calibre 13 for the right price or ETA 7750. Thanks for all the compliments guys!
  3. What kind of watch pug? I have my eyes on a Suunto with compass and heart rate monitor but I hear the crystals scratch very easily. I wonder if one could install a sapphire crystal in its place?
  4. This for me. Just finished it today. New AR sapphire, gen bezel, and Debeer Buffalo Strap. Its previously been superlumed and serviced by The Zigmeister too! Going to wear it to a casual wedding later Sunday evening. Cheers and have a good weekend fellows!
  5. Hello all! Just finished this beauty until I can find more gen parts! So far it has the following: Chieftang Double Sided AR Coating Genuine Bezel The Zigmeister Super Lume The Zigmeister Service Debeer Buffalo 24/20 Strap Newest Generation Rep Buckle Here's my want list: Gen Dial ETA Date Wheel Gen Bracelet But thus far I am very very please with the outcome. The bezel fits well. It keeps excellent time. The lume is superb. The strap is very comfortable! I had a genuine SA for a while and sold it like an idiot. I've been pursuing this watch as a rep for awhile. I aquired the watch from a member at the TRC, superlume and service already complete. Obtained the bezel over the past week. And had the crystal sent off as soon as the watch arrived. Now it will finally get some much needed wrist time! Comments and recommendations appreciated! Enjoy the pics! Cheers!
  6. Yep if you can get the parts it should be an easy fix and relatively inexpensive. Just make sure your smith is "rep friendly" so he doesn't hit you with genuine prices!
  7. The crystal should not scratch but the AR coating will. Gen owners who are rough on their watches will often have the outer coating removed and live with only the interior AR coating.
  8. Soon this will not be the only one! I've got a few tricks up my sleeve too!
  9. Krazy glue will let loose over time. I prefer two part epoxy such as "Metal set A4". Another member recommended to me a year or so ago. Just did my SMP Chrono yesterday actually after may CA glue let loose earlier that day. You can pic the stuff up offline. I just did a search and found it. Cheers
  10. Great pair. I have the 3717 from EL and love it. If a decent BP was out there I'd pick it up quickly. I'm sleeping on the Cousteau until the prices fall a bit or buy one second hand. If the BP came out new from the same factories as the 3717 and the Cousteau I'd be all over regardless of the price hiccups. Especially if it is made with a reliable/servicable movement.
  11. Enjoy and wear it well!
  12. Very nice, thanks for sharing I've definitely seen the Gen with no AR as well.
  13. PAM 192 and Gen Super Avenger for me. Sorry no pics online for me. Cheers
  14. Doing one myself. Did the gen bezel snap on properly? How about the dial, did the feet line up? Now you've got me excited. My crystal is with Chief right now! Cheers
  15. I've got about 9 7750 reps in my collection currently Yeah I'm a sucker for the chronos. But if I had to choose one I'd probably say the BCE Ultimate since it seems to be the most accurate "out of box". I just got the 3717 from EL though which is also amazing just lacks the double sided AR. The SMP Chrono is also very nice out of box and no the pushers are not supposed to screw. They are notched like you could turn them because thats how they are installed into the case on the gen. I hear the reps are simply glued but nonetheless they are not supposed to move so not an obvious flaw. If you want an obvious flaw look at the screws in the bracelet and perhaps the He valve placement. I also love the PO Chrono but the dial of course isn't laid out accurately due to the 7750 movement. So if you are a stickler for accuracy straight from the dealer go with the BCE and buy a gen strap!
  16. Breitlings are tricky. A Jaxa style tool is what I use but I've got a cheapy and if you aren't careful you'll scratch a Breit case back really quick. The cheap Jaxa tools like mine have some wobble on the dies so they'll slip off the edges of the case, especially on Breitlings because the edges are very shallow. If you think you'll be using them often buy a decent set of Swiss openers and you'll probably be much happier! Oh and if you do decide to order and not use the latex, gloves, or duct tape tricks (which I wouldn't do on a rep like the steelfish anyway) go ahead and buy some silicone grease to seal up that gasket really tight! Cheers!
  17. Patience my friend, I'm sure he'll take care of you. He always comes through for me. Eddie is a stand up guy! Cheers and good luck with your exchange/repair.
  18. Buy an ETA 7750 and send it to The Zigmeister. He shoul be able to remove the chrono seconds hand and install it into the ETA 7750 with a service. As for the gen crown and tube you should be able to aquire from Otto Frei but I haven't got a clue weither or not they will work without modding. Or you could cut your losses and part it out to othr members needing parts. Good luck!
  19. Yes I tell them. I'm close to the people I work with, why would I lie to them? They are usually at awe of the quality and detail more than anyway.
  20. Heard over at TZ that this thing isn't due out until 2008 Maybe the rep will be here sooner
  21. Which ETA movement? I might be able to hook you up.
