  1. I've come to the conclusion, and I may get flamed for this , that most of the problems people have with these movements is just simple user error/neglect. I've got at least 6 of these movements that are on my winder/wrist all the time with no issues. Now I don't run the chronos. I don't go around saying, "look ma its a mechanical chronograph" as I proceed to start and reset on haste whenever I feel like it. I only reset the chrono between 55 and 5 seconds positions so no reset issues. I follow the rules on setting the date/time so I don't jam the 4 hour date mechanism. And I don't drop my watches from 4 or 5 feet in the air! I work on cars for a living and wear them to work all the time with no issues. I just don't get this boycott. Based on my experience with these movements I would put them up against the ETA 7750 any day. All of these statements of course apply only to the newest 28,800 bph asian 7750. And only for the models that are unmodified. I won't buy an Ingenueir/Portugese Chrono nor will I invest in a Seconds at 6 Daytona. According to a professional smith these movements are hacked and are doomed to have serious mechanical issues. Also I wouldn't buy a 21,600 bph Asian 7750 unless I were planning on a Swiss swap before it ever even went on my wrist. These movements weren't finished as well nor were they assembled as well as the newer 28,800 version. Cheers and try to stay positive people. We are buying replicas for a fraction of the price. Remember they are mechanical watches that have many many many very small moving components. If you treat it like a 25 quartz casio its going to give you issues, Swiss (ETA) movement or not.
  2. Sorry but I have to disagree. When used properly it seems to be right up there with the ETA 7750. I've got a bunch of them in my collection.
  3. Very nice. How does the bracelet feel?
  4. Looks very nice. Congrats and do post some pics when the new strap arrives.
  5. Congrats on the loss Dutchy. I've been focusing on better health since the new year. I quit smoking, joined the gym, and dropped fast food and bad snacking out almost completely. I've been going to the gym at least 5 days a week. Doing about 4 of which on weight training and cardio. The other day or days I just do cardio for at least 30 minutes if not 40-1hr. The first month I lost about 20 pounds but now I've hit a plateau and can't seem to loose any more weight. I've done a lot of research on this. Here's the basics. 1. Excercise is a must if you want to get the weight off and keep it off. 2. Muscle weighs much more than fat and burns way more calories than fat so when you start weight training you often do like I do and hit a plateau every few months because your gaining muscle mass. 3. Eating often is a plus. Snacking on cookies, chips, and cakes every few hours isn't what I mean of course. But small portion meals/snacks throughout the day depending on your body type. I like to have a protein shake w/ skim milk for breakfast. I'll buy a lunch plate from my grocer's deli and split that into two meals. In between I'll have an apple or some sort of fresh fruit. During class I'll snack on a Kashi bar or fiber bar. Peanuts, almonds, and walnuts all make good little snacks in a hurry. Cottage cheese and yogart are also good quick breakfast ideas and are high in protien. Its really much easier than you think to eat healthy. Also when you eat more often and eat less portion sizes you help to "boost" your metabolism and also reduce the likelihood that you will binge eat later! 4. Cut out the sodas and drinks, yes even diet drinks. Water is your friend. It helps you to hydrate your body and also helps to reduce the amount of fluids your body retains. This is some of what I've learned. Many people and resources I've seen have also said if you are doing weight training/cardio to just stay away from the scales. They will only give you negative reinforcement which may discourage your progress. Instead track your weight loss by taking photographs of yourself, measuring your body in various places, and just noticing the simple changes in your physique. Key point is to stick with it. I've been overweight basically my entire life. My parents were both overweight as well. Excercise and good diet were not ethics practiced in my home growing up. Now that I've started practicing them on my own I feel much better and will continue to excercise my entire life. Cheers and good luck!
  6. I have one and love it. Sorry no pictures right now.
  7. Brother you are one lucky guy! Can't wait to see the pics but I'll have to tell you I hope to have mine on wrist at the same time as you. I've already claimed a blue dial version with the ETA movement! Good talk last night and oh by the way that movie Smoking Aces is worth seeing if you like shoot em up movies. Cheers, Jon
  8. You have to be careful with the 7750 on date set. If you try to set the date when the time is between 10 pm and 2 am you will damage the date mechanism. The date changes over this 4 hour time period so if you go forcing the change it will jam the movement causing it sometimes to stop often. This is not only true on the reps with this movement but also for any Genuine watch with the 7750 movement or some modified form of it such as Breitling's Calibre 13. As a rule of thumb when setting the date always first roll the time down to the 6 position. Then set the date one day before your desired date. Then roll the time around appropriately to get the right date and correct AM/PM setting. Sounds complicated but it'll guarantee your movement will last you a very long time. Also while I'm making recommendations let me make another. Never reset the chrono's except for when the second hand is between the same 4 hour period. This will ensure it resets to 0 properly every time. If you reset out further than these positions you run the risk of the second hand pivoting on its shaft. Hope I've not overwhelmed you but I own many of the 7750 movement watches and I know the precautions to make them last as long as possible. Cheers
  9. One of my long time friends has the gen model with the red lettering. I plan on doing a side by side comparison soon. It’s really hard to capture the true color of the dial with a camera. My photo skills are very amateur to say the least but this dial has a tendency to appear many different colors depending on the lighting and angle. Either way I love the watch. Absolutely stunning the quality this piece has. When the different dial versions become available I may pick up another but this time with the ETA movement.
  10. I've got a couple of straps. This is from Don. Ciao Havana Lambskin. A great value and very very soft. Smells great too. And I've got this strap on it now. Its from Elliot at TC Straps. Super Soft. Extra thick. Gets better with every day of wear. Also an excellent value. Sorry I didn't have pics of the Strap actually on the Fiddy but you get the idea with the 47mm Case. Cheers!
  11. Bezel clicks are very nice and very firm. Alignment seems good too. yeah it feels great, though I know yours must feel better knowing it has the ETA movement beating inside! PS> I sent out that crown today Joe! Let me know if you can do anything with it.
  12. Just posted a bunch of pics of mine here! http://www.rwg.cc/members/Ultimate-Bce-Fro...gus-t20255.html
  13. Received this beauty yesterday and all I can say is I am delighted. Took only 4 or so days to arrive from payment to my door. AR is superb. Weight is very nice. Dial is gorgeous. One of the best reps I've seen, hands down. I went over it, removed every screw I could and applied Loc-tite to avoid any future issues. Enough words I'll let the photos do the talking. Thanks a bunch Angus and when you get the SuperOcean Steelfish available I'm in for sure! Cheers
  14. I would love to have a SA rep. I had a genuine model for a little while but sold it. I couldn't stand to have that much money on my arm. I'd rather have several watches. If I break one I still have numerous back ups! Now if I made more money gens would line my watch box but still with quite a few reps! Cheers and post some pics once you have it in hand!
  15. Angus seems to think he can get me a replacement direct from the manufacturer but just in case I'm going to take some pictures as soon as my camera's battery charges up. Thanks for all the responses guys! Its nice to have a support group when issues like these arise!
  16. Got mine today with an extra strap. Both are great. Will post pics hopefully soon!
  17. Andrew, I would just like to say that you've always taken care of me through any issues I've ever had arise. Just wanted to show my support for you personally. I appreciate very much the service and products that you offer here on the forums. I know that Eddie has basically quit selling on the forums because of the numerous and I'm sure sometimes ridiculous claims that members here and at the other forums have made. I also agree with Chronus on this simple little rule. Before your purchase ask questions. If in doubt, ask more questions. Without our dealers we would have no reason to have a forum, well unless of course we purchased our watches from Chinatown or Replica Scam sites. Cheers!
  18. So today I went to pull the crown on my Navitimer World GMT to quickly adjust the time and yeah it broke off in my hand. To even worsen the situation the stem broke off clean, meaning I have nothing to grab ahold of to remove the remaining portion. I have 7750 stems but they are worthless if I have no crown. Anyone have any tips or tricks that might help me out? I know there are screw extractors that reverse out screws but do these exist this small? What would a watchmaker do in this situation? If no advice other than new crown does anyone know where I could source this part? I contacted the dealer and he stated that parts are becoming difficult to obtain and that he can't make any promises. Thanks in advance guys and gals. Cheers
  19. Just pulled the trigger on the graphite dial w/ red "automatic" Can't wait to see this baby. I've been patient for so long.
  20. Can you post pics? I can't see the AR on the current version Angus version: Current Dealer Version:
  21. I hear the helicopters are very hard to fly. I'm pretty sure you can buy a simulator you can practice with on your computer. Not sure what the names of them are but you can pick them up online from Hobby retailers. Better to crash it in a simulator than to crash the real thing!
  22. Does he have a better idea of when? I'm hearing around the 20th from Angus.
  23. 187 for me. I bought the EL version. Loved it when I first got it but then the problems started. The screws were stripped that hold the strap in place. And of course the bezel markers evidently fall off of many peoples. So I proceeded to mod mine to make them stay in place better. Just put a bad taste in my mouth. Now I will never buy another PAM submersible model ever again! Still wair it occassionally but it doesn't get the love I thought it would when I first saw its picture. Secondly I would have to say pretty much all of my Rollie reps, except the Daytona, I don't wear any of them much at all.
