  1. Don't know where you are located but most larger cities in the US should have a Harbor Freight. They sell Jaxa style case openers which are good for pretty much any watch except Rollies. The rubber glove trick usually works if the gasket isn't pinched or if it hasn't been clamped down since its original purchase. I've found that most rep case backs are surprisingly loose from the factory. Good luck! Jon
  2. So I decided to try out a winder for my collection. I've gotten tired of setting my watches just wear one out for a night on the town. So I looked and I looked for a winder. The watchsmith I do business with in the mall had them but of course they were very expensive. I looked on Amazon.com and other various sites. And of course I checked the Bay. Found this baby there. It was advertised as having the "Fuzzy Logic" control system and very quiet motors. I bid and bid and forgot to bid and got outbid on about 6 different winders before I finally won this one on my day off last week. So for about $120 I've now got a winder with plenty of room for new growth! Well I loaded it up and set all my watches before I got it started. Now its all loaded and in motion. If got it set to run for like 150 seconds in one direction, then stop for 300 seconds, then rotate another 150 seconds in the opposite direction. Well see how it does! Cheers, Jon
  3. So I've got several modern Subs now and wanted to add some variety to my collection. I searched and searched for a nice tactical style strap. I've got a blue/grey Nato strap but I'm just not a fan, they don't feel substantial enough on my arm. I found a very nice looking Nato style strap that used Velcro. I liked what I saw but the store was closed for an extended holiday. So I decided to drop by my local Wal-Mart to check out the selection, but not the selection of straps but rather the selection of cheap crappy watches. Thats right I found this strap on a watch. Bought the whole shabang for about $7. Threw the crap digi-quartz in the trash and kept the strap. Here's the results: I also wanted to spruce up my 4th Gen PO so I decided to go rubber. Since the Gen straps cost as much as the watch I decided not to go that route. And since the rep straps don't fit the 4th Gen models that wasn't an option either. So I did some more searching and found this very nice deal for around $15 shipped. The buckle was originally brushed all over. I decided that at least part needed to be polished to match the watch. So after a little loving from my Dremel I've got a completed project of which I'm also very pleased! I'm going to order another of these straps in blue for my SMP! Here's the results: The new pair: And the wrist shots: Cheers, Jon
  4. Yeah I've learned that Ebay doesn't always pull them. There are people out there that are just going to get screwed. Sucks but I guess thats part of the game. Some bad ones sneak through every now and then. I reported several shady Rolex listings a few weeks ago. All of which still sold for around $2000. Imagine paying $2000 for a rep and not knowing it. You have it for 2-3 years and send it in for service to realize its been a fake all along. I'm glad I now know what I know about reps and gen watches! Jon
  5. Andrew, I also agree with the others. Out this guys name so we don't get stuck in a bad trade with him here or at one of the other forums! I hope you get your second watch back too! I see people like this every day. I work in the service industry for a retail location and see people like this every day. Its a shame but some people are just dumb and self involved! Cheers, Jon
  6. Tubs wore the GST in the new Movie. I definately spotted that clasp a few times. They show a dead on "money maker" shot towards the end. Movie was well, different. Don't go in expecting something like Bad Boys 2. It was slow at points but very realistic and interesting at others. During the movie I found myself bored a few times but the more I think back I actually liked the film Cheers, Jon Oh and I don't care if the Ferrari was ridiculous it was absolutely cool!
  7. Very cool as there isn't even a Breitling or Omega dealer in my area, not to mention half of the higher end stuff pictured there. Sam's club usually has a few Omegas but nothing much else high end. I'll be stopping by my Costco soon to take a peak! Cheers, Jon
  8. "He" valve also appears too low on the first. Is the second a 45.5mm w/ 20mm lugs? Hopefully these get nabbed or someone is going to be [censored]! Jon
  9. Sorry to hear what happened. Some people are just that desperate that they have to steal. At least all you've lost is material items. You could be hurt or worse even dead. And don't worry kharma will catch up with the theives sometime! Jon
  10. Most bezels simply "pry" off with a case opening knife while taking precautions not to scratch/bend the bezel and or the case. You can use tape to mask off the areas you will be prying upon. Also depending on the the type of bezel (unidirection, ratcheting, etc) there may be a spring and or parts that could potentially fly off if you don't remove the bezel slowly. If you've never done it i would recommend picking up some cheap watches with similar bezels to practice. Also on the insert. The diameters could be too small or too large or both for a rep watch. Even if you figure out how to get the bezel off the replacement may not fit without modification. So pick up a set of precision calipers and measure both the diameters before ordering. If the measurements are too large you can always file it down! Good luck and have fun! Cheers, Jon
  11. I would like to see more pics! Nice collection. How do you like the DJ 14k? Cheers Jon
  12. Very sorry for your loss. Hope you feel better soon. Don't let the negativity around on some of these threads bring you down. Sincerely, Jon
  13. Now thats what I call dedication! I'd be snoozing right now! Cheers, Jon
  14. Good to hear you got your money back! Cheers, Jon
  15. Every Navitimer/Chronomat style bracelet has done this to me before. I'm guessings its a combination of factory lubricant and dirt causing the issue. Don't think cleaning it helps either. Cheers, Jon
  16. Hate to be the bearer of bad news but this is an Asian 7750, the old one which beats at 21600. Jon
  17. Well I've bought from Paul a few times only to be satisfied. Hope his site is back up soon, I know he's had some issues with it lately. Cheers, Jon
  18. Paul has had some issues with his site over the past couple of weeks. I'm sure he'll get it settled. Jon
  19. I've seen these but heard they were all fantasy models. The red/red combo is great though! Wear it well, and if you ever get to the ATL make sure you drop by the Underground. They have a pretty cool Coca-Cola museum there. They'd proabably be impressed with your piece! Afterall Coke originated from there! Cheers, Jon
  20. I'm sure that any of our dealers in CN could pick you up a pair. Andrew offered to pick me up some golf clubs and a handbag for my GF once on one of his visits to CN. If you have a good relationship with your dealer they'll gladly go out of their way to help you out! Cheers, Jon
  21. No but very similar. They have additional polished peices in the center links but are curved with a similar design to the POs. Jon PS on an additional note. I think that Omega's bracelets are some of the most comfortable out there! Like butter on your wrist!
  22. @quarks! I see you pulled the trigger and you are obviously happy! Great watch even though its a fantasy model! Gotta love those breitlings! Cheers, Jon
