  1. @ phoband: Congrats I just gave mine away (as you know ) and went for a black face SF. Due to the strap: Try the genuine rubber strap. It is 60 Euro at this time and available in any AD store. I already have it in black. Just waiting for the black SF arrival
  2. I'd be happy for a reply, too. I sent several pms and emails referring to my PAM196 and a re-printed DW but didn't receive any reply.... I can understand Mark's situation but I am also in a tricky life situation because I will move to another country soon which is about 9.500 km far from my current home. Therefore I'd like to get my watch projects finished.
  3. Nope! Take a look to the current IWC catalogue: It says double side.
  4. My Ingie and PAM196 crystals (first double second single coated) are still on the way across the big pond I can't wait to get them installed especially the double coated crystal for my Ingie. Referring to the "issue" (small spots on the edges from the clamps): Brian you did a great job and it was clear to me that there will be some micro spots before I took part in your project. I did a research in Europe earlier and all optical stores and manufacturers told me that the crystals will probably show these spots because they have to be adjusted with small clamps for the ar coating. So no prob to me! As said: A great job and I can't wait to see my crystals
  5. John, what a question Of course I would be happy with that! I am definately in for one overlay for my evo
  6. Hi there, I am owning a couple of PAM and other reps but I am new to Omega reps. I read some reviews relating to these watches here but please allow some questions before I am going to pull the trigger: Is it me or are the numerals on the ultimate
  7. Hi, I know that both movements 2836 and 2824 have different heights. I am not planning a mvt. swap but I simply want to change the dial of my 2824 watch for a better printed which is from a 2836 watch. Are the feet and date window position of 2836 and 2824 dial identical?
  8. Of course, I would go for a 091 rep, too. I am trying to put a 165 together from several parts. But no success yet. A 165 or 091 with ti case would be wonderful
  9. Me too. I have been watching out for a close SA rep for a long time. The rep should be accurate out of the box because it is nearly impossible to source a gen dial and hands. I have been trying. Forget about it So: A new job for Angus
  10. Wow! That's another nice Breitling and should become a sister of my Franken-Avenger soon. I guess that is job for Angus
  11. Yes, unfortunately. Wondering that the BCE ultimate is not that expensive.....
  12. You are right, John. But however, that would be a nice franken-rep project. And I assume 97 per cent will never figure out a rep
  13. Indeed, the 165 is one of my fav. watches. It is a pity that the rep is only available with brushed steel case... I planning a 165 project by swapping the case for a Ti case of the PAM089 (also swapping bezel and cg). I dunno if that works.... Probably I'll give it a try soon. But soen money will be spent for two watches and I am not sure if the parts will fit...
  14. @ TwoTone: Nice pic..... Aaaaaarghh! :yucky:
  15. Welcome to the club.... Sorry to hear that. Exactly the same catastrophe has happened to my 212 a few months ago. I was a lucky guy and found an entire case kit but it was a buy by chance and unfortunately I can't recommend a source. That chrono is one of my favs but that damn crystal....
  16. Thanks for posting the pic. Yes it gives a help
  17. Thanks for enlightening me folks. Otherwise I would have my crystal removed for an ar coating.... So a simple cyclops swap will be enough.
  18. Hi there, I read something about differences in A and B series of these old GMT PAMs. E.g. the T or L printing which is both correct on B series. But what' about an ar coating? Is the genuine PAM 029 with tux dial ar coated?
  19. That's good news. I was afraid that an ar coating for crystals with cyclopses wouldn't work. At this time I would be intersted in a second run with 2 cyclops-crystals and probably two normal crystals. Another question: I am planning to get a Railmaster XXL ar coated. As far as I know the crystal is just a mineral crystal. Will that high temperature ar coating work on this?
  20. Hi there, is somebody aboard who is owning both Fiddy (47mm) and Railmaster XXL? I would be happy for some pics showing both giants side by side. I am a bit confused referring to the size of the Railmaster XXL: The catalogue says the diameter would be exactly 49,2mm. But I heard also that would be the size including crown and actually the case diameter would be something about 47mm?! Is that true? Thanks a lot.
  21. Yes, of course: Swap the bezel and the cg for polished parts, put a simple 7750 with a PAM165 dial in and voila´ That's what I am going to do when my PAM089 dies.
  22. Are you going to post a call with member's name and number of pre-ordered cyclopses as on the AR coating project? As far as I remember I am still in for two 7mm lenses.
  23. Would be great to see that project going ahead: I am in for at least two DWs
  24. Hmm... I am afraid you are right. I have to second that the grey dial is way too dark. I received mine a few days ago. I hope the black/ silver one will be better. But when I took a closer look to the pics I saw that the silver frames of the subdials seem to be a bit too wide... I don't really know..... Hope it looks fine in reality.
