Looking for a strap for my NEW PAM253. I want just a very classic basic brown leather strap. Here are my questions: 1. Do the gen PAMs have Paneria inscribed on the buckle? Alot of the rep straps I'm looking at have it inscribed. I DON'T want that to scream "REP" 2. Any iput on PreV Buckle versus Deployment? Or, is it a personal preference. I think the PreV is more classic though? 3. What does the numbers 15/80 and 24/24 mean? 4. If anyone has a pic of there PAM on a plain brown strap could you post it so I can take a look? 5. Anything else I should weigh into my decision? Thanks for ALL your help!!!

Okay, after several weeks of reading the forums and a lot of contemplation, I just ordered my 1st PAM...... a PAM253 from Andrew at TT. So, as every NEWBIE progression goes, I'm looking for the right strap to use along with the diver strap that the 256 ships with. I have a few questions: 1. What is all of your opinion of the best looking strap for the 253? 2. Is there a significance to some strap's stitching connecting with a stitch line at the watch an some open? (hope that makes sense) 3. What makes a great strap? I look at all the posts and the strap vendors and I can't tell the difference between a $250 strap and a $50? Help??? 4. Is soft supple leather something you look for in a really nice strap? If so, who makes the softest? Thanks for all your help! I thought my stress of picking the right PAM model was over then.... OH, I need a cool strap, and I'm stressed all over again What great stress it is.... this is fun!

Definitely a different watch than last year! That is what caught my eye!

I was watching House last night and it looked like Hugh Laurie (Dr. House) was wearing a Panerai??? Has anyone noticed this and/or figured out what model he was wearing?

I'm so confused......!!!

I've searched through ALL the posts on the 127s and it seems like most say the best comes from DSN? I'm new to the forum and apologize, but sometimes the posts seem to be written in code that I simply do not understand. So, I'm still searching for my first PAM. I was leaning towards the 253 but after spending more time on the forum I think the PAM127 1950 is the most classic. Could you give me the scoop on what is the best rep and a contact or url so i can find the right dealer to buy from. I have found Andrew at TT and finally figured out how Angus is but can't figure out DSN if in fact that is the best rep of the 127? Any help would be GREATLY appreciated! Thanks!!!

Thanks! Just the feedback I was looking for. I've read a bunch of posts mentioning Angus. Who is Angus? IS he a rep similar to Andrew at Trusty? If so, what is his website url?

So, everyone convinced me to go with the 253 in lieu of the 222. Thanks for all your input! I have a few questions: 1. This may be a dumb NEWBIE question but what does the REG & TM mean on the dial? 2. The blue illuminated second hand is really a cool feature that several of you noted. Is it okay to let the second hand run all the time or should it be locked at 12? Andrew at TT recommended that you keep the second hand locked at 12 so you don't wear out the chrono. Any input? 3. Is the Panerai labeled black divers band classic and something all Panerai owners wear or should I go with a different band? 4. How close of a rep is this 253 from TT to the original PAM253? Thanks for your help!!!

Wow! Thanks for all the advice! Based on everyone's feedback I'm now leaning towards the 253!!! What does everyone think of the carbon face as opposed to a plain black? Does that take away from the classic PAM look?

Does this rep from TT have the tick marks on dial & sapphire... I can't tell"

Okay, I have it narrowed down to two PAMs. Could you give me your opinion on which one you like best and why???? PAM222 versus PAM253 Thanks for your help!!!

I wanted to get some input from the experts on my first PAM rep purchase. I know virtually nothing about watches so I am going strictly by looks only. I have an IWC as my dress watch. I love the fact that it is understated but first class. I needed a casual watch and thought a PAM was the way to go in lieu of a flashy Rolex, Breitling, etc.... So, I've been looking through ALL the PAMs for several days and the one I like the most is the PAM222 from Trusty. Before I make the purchase I wanted any input you all might have on that model: 1. Is it a good rep? Looks the same as the original to me.... 2. What is the feeling about these Special Editions from the PAM aficionados? 3. Are the PAM black divers strap (with Panerai engraved in the rubber) what most people wear with their PAMs or is that not cool? Any help, input or advice you could give me on my first PAM purchase would be greatly appreciated!!!! Thanks!

Just received my IWC 7750 from Andrew at Trusty. He is a GREAT guy! Watch is awesome!!! I was hoping to get a few questions answered about using my watch since I'm NEW to using chronographs: 1. Should I keep the second hand running or leave it locked at 12? 2. How often should I wind? Can you wind the watch too much, does it stress the movement? Or, should you rely on the movement throughout the day only using the winding crown when necessary? 3. When they refer to a "power reserve" is that the power built up by the movement? How much power will build up? When will my watch stop working- after sitting ideal 12hrs, 24hrs.? 4. Is there anything I can do to prevent this "seconds at 6 problem"? How will I know... does the watch stop working or just the Chronograph? 5. Okay... here is my big NEWBIE question: what is the chronograph used for? You have the seconds running in the bottom circle but you also have a second hand that does the same thing. Then you have a 30 minute timer (I think this is what it is?) in the upper circle. What is that used for? Sorry to ask such dumb questions! Just want to make sure I get the most out of my watch. Thanks for such a GREAT forum!

Hello! I'm so glad I found this discussion group. Over Christmas, uncharacteristically, I ordered a IWC replica from www.ireplicastore.com and still have not received and can't get anyone on the phone or via email. If I ever do receive I'm assuming it will be junk? Through research on the forums here, I found that website as one of the scam sites. All well, bad mistake, live and learn! So, I've read through a bunch of posts for several hours and it looks like Trusty Time is a legitimate site selling good quality replicas. Please let me know if I am incorrect so I don't make another mistake!!! The watch I would like is the IWC IWC0014A - IWC Portuguese Chrono Silver/Silver SS -New Asia 7750. Is there anything I'm NOT considering before I order this from Trusty or am I good to go???? Any advise prior to me pulling the trigger would be GREATLY appreciated! Also, will I have any trouble getting this watch under my dress shirts with a thickness of 12.5mm? I appreciate any advice you could give me. Thanks!!!
