  1. TTK-

I don't think most of the members here would have much of a problem with you, or any other dealer, constructing such a table. However, it brings up an interesting question that I've thought about on occasion.

Where do dealers draw the line about certain customers? I mean, when does picky become too picky? How many questions are tolerated before it just becomes too much of a PITA?

I know that much of this is subjective, but maybe you could give us some thoughts on this...

    Much appreciated.

  2. Well, I started with a 111H which I loved then and still love today. I decided to buy another PAM to wear while I sent my 111 off to get the recessed pin fix and lume. So, I ordered a cheapy 104 w/ an Asian auto. It's the biggest piece of crap. Mineral glass, a cyclops that has basically no magnification (so you can't really even see the date...actually, the cyclops distorts the view so much, it would probably be better without it), basically no lume, a movement that just stops out of the blue for no reason while wearing, etc...

But, probably the the most annoying flaw is that the distance from the case to the lug screw is too short. And, the bottom of the case is extremely sharp. So, when you put those together, you can't put a decent strap on it because it's shortly chewed to pieces. I even took a dremel to it to try to fix it, but it's still crappy.

Needless to say, I only wear it for yard work, etc.

Still haven't sent off my 111 dammit!

  3. OK, so I've been reading this thread from the beginning. Really I think I'm just posting to be part of what seems to be the longest thread in the history of the world.

Seriously, Pug and I have had our differences in the past (although I can't really seem to recall what we were sparring about, and it doesn't really matter), but I agree with his views in this thread. And, I wanted to show my support in light of the current opposition and naysayers.

I had a thought. Maybe we could make a list of all those who don't really care if they are lied to or not. That way when people who do care get deceived, there will be a secondary market for those watches. That way everyone is happy.

    Whatta ya think?

  4. I guess part of the problem is that I received this piece at the same time as my IWC Ingenieur. The IWC is, to me, an almost perfect rep and it's built like a tank, so the YM seems even more flimsy. I'm also used to PAM's, so this YM already looks like a lady's watch and is hard to get used to. BTW, what are the case or bezel dimensions supposed to be on the YM gen?

Does one need a special tool to remove the bezel? Any step-by-step directions anywhere?

Thanks for all the replies so far.

  5. You can feel the clicks when you rotate the bezel, but it's definitely soft. Rotates both ways as well.

I wore it around the house for a bit today and it's so loose that it "rattles" just when you are wearing it to do ordinary activities. I'm guessing this is not normal.

Is there any way to remedy this, or does it have to be returned/replaced?

  6. I just received my new Yachtmaster and have a quick question. The bezel seems to be really loose. I don't know much about Rolexes, so I thought I'd check with you guys.

The bezel has a noticeable gap between it and the case. When you press down from the top of the bezel (toward the case), it noticeably compresses and makes a clicking noise. It feels super flimsy. Is this the way it's supposed to look/feel/sound?

For the record, this is a ETA version.

As an aside, does anybody have any direct comparison pictures of the skinny vs. thick date font on these?

    Thanks so much.

  7. if customs seized your package they will send you a notice. the package with the links they wouldn't seize.

Don't know if you're talking about US or Canadian customs, but I'm not sure this is correct. I've had a package that I shipped to Canada stuck in Canadian customs since June 16. I've never received any sort of notification from them. It just shows in the USPS tracking info. as "Into Foreign Customs" and the date. So, even if you have tracking, you don't really know what the deal is (other than Customs has it and it's not a scam seller).

  8. After reading and browsing the Panerai Website, I have decided which watch I want. I a 210, with a black leather strap.

Let me tell you it was not easy there is so many choices :black_eye:

Now I am searching for the dealer with the best 210 available, is there a swan neck 210 ?

    any suggestions.

    Thanks :thumbsupsmileyanim:

You don't see that many people that start out with a Rad for their first PAM. Good for you! I think you'll like it better than that vintage piece. The fixed lugs on the vintage really limits the number of strap choices. But, you'll have plenty to choose from with the 210.

    Good luck with your purchase.

  9. I think for flash, if you can pull it off, the choice is the fiddy. You will definitely get more looks, questions, comments on the fiddy (or another 47mm like the 217) than the 44mm's. If you think a $10K watch is too much, then I would say go for the 111h.

  10. Time to move on.

OK, four posts and counting since this. Apparently, in fact, not time to move on.

So, now for my bullsh*t disclaimers. I have nothing against self-aggrandizing blowhards that feel the need to stroke their egos by denigrating others on an Internet forum. I also have nothing against self-proclaimed protectors of the masses.

The very fact that you can't see the bloody difference between a gun and a rock means you shouldn't be allowed to carry a firearm.

Let's start with this. What an utterly infantile response to the point being made. Actually, you said that this statement made your point, but I'll try to explain what it was supposed to convey. Political correctness has gotten out of control. We are all big boys and girls on this forum. I don't care if it's a US forum, a British forum or a friggin Antarctic forum. If I open a thread and see something that I find offensive, like, say, a picture of seals being clubbed, then I close the thread and don't reopen it again. Almost any picture that is posted may be offensive to somebody somewhere. We don't need grotesque examples to know that. As for the rock, someone's great-great-great grandmother was probably stoned to death for being a witch. That person may find a rock far more offensive than a gun. A rediculous example to illustrate the rediculousness of what's transpired thus far. Nobody should have to worry about every possible scenario that may offend someone.

Everyone has a right to post whatever they feel is appropriate. Everyone has a right to ignore posts that they don't find appropriate. I don't think this is something that's territorial. If those rights are worth sh*t, then we don't have much of a forum anyway.

For whatever reason, you seem to think that there is some hoard of people out there that are offended by these pictures and you need to be their savior. Maybe you should just speak for yourself. You keep saying that you don't have a problem with the guns (you've used guns, blah, blah, blah). Fine. Then quit posting. Let the people that have a problem with them chime in. Or, maybe, they've elected to just close this thread and ignore it because they find the content offensive. Gee, what an idea.

Also, you're implying that we're all weak-willed, liberal (when did that become a dirty word?) pansy girly-men.

I'm not sure where I've implied this. I guess you're attibuting it to me since you put it directly under my quote. I'm not implying anything. I'm saying directly that if you can't use one click of the mouse to close a thread and not reopen it, then you have nobody to blame but yourself.

  11. Yet you deliberately enflame the argument.

You like guns. I honestly don't care about that. However, like I've said, common grace and courtesy would have you stfu about them on a watch forum where several people have professed to having found them offensive. If we started posting medical procedures or hard-core porn, would you be surprised if there were an outcry?

I'm not trying to change anyone's opinion as the internet isn't the place for that, I'm just requesting a modicum of respect for your fellow board members. I don't care about guns or porn, but I feel some people are now too scared of the inevitable flames they would get if they decided to stand up for themselves.

[censored] like this makes people leave forums.

Stand up for themselves? Give me a break. If somebody doesn't like the content of this thread, they can choose to read some other thread and ignore this one.

Geez, if I take a picture of my watch by a rock, some numbnuts will probably be offended by the rock. This has gotten rediculous.
