  1. Sorry no pics at this moment, but if best described in my terms it is tapered when looked at from the side of a watch. Lever is not loose per se and is centered just fine, but crown guard is thinner on the lever side compared to the exposed screw side.

Crown Guard itself it is also noticably thinner than the case of my PAM ane is brushed while the case is polished (i think this maybe how the gens are)

    Many Thanks for you feedback...

  2. i AM NOT SURE ABOUT OPTION TO HAVE ROTOR EITHER WITH OR WITHOUT STICKERS....

i BET THE CHEPEST AND EASIEST OPTION BY FAR WOULD BE JUST TO REMOVE LETTERS WITH A TOOTHPICK. I DID IN 10 MINS AND I HAVE NEVER OPENED UP A WATCH CASE BEFORE IN MY LIFE.

Angus seems to show 2 options for the rotor...with stickers:

and without (seems to be the preferred):

Has anybody tried ordering the option for the undecorated rotor??

  3. THANKS FOR REPLY. i HAVE USED A RUBBER BALL FROM MY SON'D PLAYBOX. WORKED LIKE A CHARM.

...there are no stupid question...only because I've asked them already...if you use the search for caseback tool or something like that...you should find what you need.

The expensive route is a press-like tool that gets you a lot more torque while safely having the watch mounted in a vice-like base.

The cheaper option is a Bergeon Jaxa tool...which is a three pronged tool that has adjustable prongs, and changeable ends to fit the various casebacks (not Rolex). The even cheaper option is a generic Chinese Jaxa you can find on Flea Bay for pretty cheap. The construction on the Bergeon and the Chinese one is very different...but the cheap one is usable...but it doesn't have anywhere near the same quality.

  4. Hi all,

First of let me thank everybody for contributing wealth of information on this forum. Without it it would be hard to make an inteligent decision in this (new to me area). I only have GEN UN Maxi Diver at this point  and my budget would not allow for another GEN Chrono. REP is to the rescue!

Now to my main question, as I am on a hunt for the best (prior to any modofcations) REP chrono out of these three in terms of quality and proximity to the respective GEN item. Lets just leave movements out of this comparison (lets presume they all have the same A7550 high beat).

    I) 2007 Iwc Aquatimer Chrono Cousteau Diver - orange sub dial on Ruber strap.

II) Breitling Chrono Evolution (V2 or Ultimate) - graphite dial stick markers on SS bracelet model.

III) Breitling Navitimer Serie Special - Blue dial with stick markers, on SS bracelet, 12-9-6 arrangement.

I have read this forum extensively about each brand and still can not make an inteligent decision. Hopefully somebody who had been exposed to these REPS and GENS will reply with a word of advice!

    Thanks beforehand!

    Alex
