  1. say, Offshore will you carry TYMC/MTG machines in your store?
  2. Hey Chris, I'm still waiting for a reply as well
  3. So can we conclude this is an MBK "clone" and WILL accept 1:1 parts?
  4. make a properly functioning and reliable CHS movement based on the gen gmt and i'll be impressed.
  5. it's all just cosmetic at this point. I think giving the opportunity to buy a clone 3135 for a higher price I wouldnt UNLESS it fixes the crown height issue and keeps +/-1sec, but ETAs keep great time and once a 3135 fits a 2824 should have a good crown height as well, so I probably wouldnt pay the markup... whats the point.
  6. I truly believe they could, since they've replicated the 2892 pretty well. However those designs are publicly sold on ebay, without repercussion from ETA. Selling a knock off Rolex movement you'd probably be sued the second you refresh your auction listing. Only market would be the rep one, and not enough people would care or even know any better to warrant the building of an underground movement for use in these watches.
  7. THIS ONE looks better but is STILL . VERY WRONG URL for product: http://www.prowatch-polo.com/showpic.asp?ArticleID=802
  8. If you look at the pic you'll notice the bezel insert sits below the metal ridge of the bezel giving it a lip on the gen sub. on the rep you can see the bezel sits above the metal bezel ring NOT below the ridge giving it no impression of having a lip that is higher than the insert. To me and others on this board they consider this a huge giveaway as its a very unique and specific look that ALL gen subs have. If youre a casual collector who just wants a good looking watch to flash to your friends it should be fine. But any one that owns a gen should notice something just doesnt seem right with yours if they were to see it, maybe not noticing the bezel problem right away but it would still raise suspicion. One can usually thin the metal bezel and glue it back in making it sit lower in the metal bezel ring. with this tawain case you CAN NOT. there is simply is NOT enough depth to have any insert sit below that lip. hope that made sense.
  9. "They do not want to find out (in 10 or 20 years' time) that the coatings fade, discolor or oxidize." you mean like their tritium dials? how long has AR tech been around anyways? and should we expect to this on subs 20years from now then? it seems good enough for everyone else to use, and im sure they could do some artificial aging of it on their crystals for RnD purposes...no? either way, kudos on the rare purchase enjoy!
  10. Hi guys, as some of you may know i've been trying to source a retaining ring for my submariner 16610 as humidity leaks in. Tracking one down that is of quality seems almost a lost cause by now. Next option: seal up the existing one at the rim where the crystal gasket and metal meet. Tried it once with hypo cement, and the GS cement seems to peel and remain kind of tacky. I have little confidence in this for my specific application. Next option...thread locker by loctite. is there ANY reason i should NOT do this on the exterior of the crystal and gasket and metal ring? will loctite seal something against humidty, heat, cold and water to depths of 30m? will it melt the plactic gasket? work its way under things and warp them or corrode anything? thanks guys. I'm either gonna use the red kind or the blue kind. any preference or alternatives to what im proposing or caveats?
  11. I bought this case set from prowatch thinking it was wm9v1...it was not. I should mention with the depth gauge on my calipers I measured the top of the bezel lip to where the insert would sit below the lip on the metal inner ring part in the bezel and its a slim 0.46mm MEANING you CAN NOT RECESS ANY INSERT... so what's the point... you could maybe transfer a noobmariner bezel ring since its the same construction and it would be better than the noobmariner... but again with reps like MBK and wm9 why bother. Which yeah, IS, unfortunate cause PWP is great to deal with. GUTS:
  12. What a Handy Tool to see ALL NEGATIVE and neutral feedback only; all at once, ever left even beyond 1 year for any ebay member. I'm thinking this is useful for members to screen ebayers they may wish to purchase off to get a full history of feedback. Here's an example using EVERYBODYs favourite eBaY seller: http://toolhaus.org/cgi-bin/negs?User=wholesaleoutlet990&Dirn=Received+by&ref=home
  13. Neo said he'd get back to me on an inquiry...that was a GOOD 5 days ago. so I was kinda wondering the same thing.
  14. sorry JMB, I meant this one http://www.tt88time.com/index.php?main_page=popup_image_additional&pID=601&pic=0&products_image_large_additional=images/large/ROLSUB0009_1_LRG.JPG which I equate with noobfactory cause of the case and coronet / font on the dial.
  15. I bought this. it is IMPOSSIBLE to recess an insert in the bezel due to the way it's constructed. there is nothing gen like about the construction. and the rehaut is slightly conical and milled roughly. The dial print looks a tad too small, it has solid link bracelet and the gaskets are noob sized, and the crown tube is too small to accept a gen crown. It's a glorified noobmariner. prowatch IS indeed EXCELLENT to deal with but this particular product if you're not going to mod it is fine, but if you have huge plans for it stay away.
  16. is it WATERPROOF? the answer is NO ran it under cold water for a second and fog formed under the crystal back it goes to the land of Armadillos thanks for the offer of help JMB and alligoat for your insights will my Sub nightmare NEVER end? I just wanna wear this damn thing!
  17. bump? could we at least get dials done? how are the existing 14060 noob dials on the bad case 14060s?
