  1. is that NOT the EXACT same picture twice? maybe i missed something
  2. my bad Corgi. i was in the same boat with a marred dial i got, and had to learn from a newbie status, as it was my first rep purchase and i also knew nothing but really wanted to fix beautiful watch. so i did some reading, headed to ebay to get right tools: spring bar remover, jaxa wrench, case vise, 1.2mm screwdriver, hand remover/hand setting tool, and rodico. well i guess my point is, necessity is the mother of invention. if i can do it from being in the same posistion im confident you could as well, no time like the present, and a 100$ investment in tools which you'll then own forever is worth it, plus the knowledge youll gain, you just have to be willing to learn. we have a wonderful forum here so learning isnt so hard... ajoe has written a wonderful tutorial step by step with pics on how to swap a movement. if you feel this isnt something you could do on your own then your only option is obviously to repurchase the same watch this time from a trusted dealer, i know eurotimez provides pics of the exact watch he's about to send you, so you can try him. but if youre serious about this hobby the day will come when you need to learn something more than how to buy a watch, and investing in tools is never a bad idea. you could also always sell your existing watch for parts or to someone willing to repair it, so it's not a total loss to you good luck.
  3. buy a cheapee $25 DG4813 movement from this forum, and a new insert off ebay. no biggie. : ) or sell your existing watch for parts...case, dial, hands, crystal etc.
  4. why should someone order from you VS Andrew or Josh is my question if they have better prices and you both have the same product excluding what you say is real gold. my question is why would i pay x amount more for a SS sub from you vs an asian dealer, and customs issues would be the same or worse to Canada from the U.S (the only time ive ever had to pay taxes) i understand the snowball marketing effect and competition, if one person says 904L well people will buy from them thinking its better when its the same. i can see some reps coming with aftermarket dials and 7750 movements if someone pays extra for it, but is this in truth fact even if extra is paid is the debate im pondering? people over paying for something is nothing new in any stretch of the world, who's really to blame. i just wonder how much truth there is behind what you say, and how much of it youre trying to be ignorant too saying your supplier says its 904L so it must be..not my fault if it isnt. *a mod should take him up on his offer to inspect a rep. even a cheapo sub with gen aftermarket dial or a 7750 movement. why not send one of those if youre willing to part with a solid gold bracelet why not a 7750movement daytona. GUYS he was willing to put up or shutup with no loss to you. would be interesting to see with no risk. maybe we should humor him?
  5. i question all rollies i see. most counterfieted watch right... i can never get close enough to see the fine details to figure it out, which i guess gives me some relief against being called out myself in an every day situation... last one i saw i swear was a SSD but like i said, couldnt get close enough to tell. you can be rich and still not be able to justify spending $20K on a watch. i mean 20grand is 20grand and there are a lot of other things that can buy even if you are a millionaire. a rep is a fraction of that.
  6. 4813 is pretty nice. mine has kept within 4seconds /day out of the box. AND 28.8 does look cleaner. hey and it's only $25
  7. BEAUTIFUL! Looks gen to me is that glue residue around the bezel insert?
  8. that watch actually doesnt look half bad. good buy
  9. i agree, the Daytonas' time has come... something new please
  10. WAIT A MINUTE!!!! thats NOT a rep!?!? ahahaha i looked at the pic, then started reading, the whole time in my head thinking it was a crappy rep, until i read some more, and somewhere near the bottom i realise this is fo real. the dial just looks fake... unless this is a rep...see i dont even know anymore.
  11. anyone know what watch this case is for originally? its bigger than the noobmariner f5....case and has the model number of 116610 between the lugs instead of 16610...wondering its origins ...if its an MBK or not...it is bigger and has a misprint and very wrong crown gaurds... even the bracelet indicates it should have hollow mid links and it does not. also the bracelet cant bend past its self at the end link (enclosed photo to illustrate) NO case lug holes... so anyone have any idea where its from? its obviously for a 16610 i guess... the crown in this one is for a GMT
  12. i can vouch for the 4813 my pseudo mini review: -LOUD rotor but spins freely. probably same as the slow beat... im still not sure why silent rotors exist in $10seagull movements but not $30 DG movements +fast beat, looks twice as smooth as the 21.6s but not AS silky as a genuine rolex sweep STILL VERY good(perhaps mine has a beat error cause its not always erratic) good or bad you decide : you can listen to it ticking along in a quiet room +two weeks after i got it I KID YOU NOT keeps within 4 seconds a day. gains time on my wrist, looses time in the box. + hack set -date wheel starts to change over from about 1030pm-12am +silkiest smooth manual wind i've ever felt on a watch. comparable to an omega speedmaster (how ever the speedmaster i could wind with one finger) +shock protection does its job, endures my active lifestyle. hmm thats all i can think of for now... ill add more as it comes
  13. i was more interested in why one differs from the other. if a $10 seagull movement can be quiet why cant a similarly priced DG one?
  14. what exactly makes the DG movements sound like a rattle? my experience with asian movements is MOSTLY seagull and theyre exceptionally quiet...so whats the diff?
  15. i kind of like the contrast, the colors DO compliment each other. NOT as bad as a snow white sub >p a "Panama GMT" i like that...OR ALL American : )
  16. thats a GOOD IDEA. staring at contradictory pictures all day will make ya go insane. report back your findings : )
  17. this is what i meant by rounded VS straight edge. maybe yours are like this in person, just cant see it on the photo. CGs are a matter of personal opinion for most i think, so if youre happy thats all that matters. the gen shows like theyre rounded around the crown, and it appears the same in the tutorial. not like a pointy straight edge.
  18. i believe BK (and forgive me if im wrong) sells the "transformer" with snap off snap on bezel with the multi combinations.
  19. is it still running with condensation in there or has it stopped?
  20. i say keep going, and round it out a bit so its not such a straight edge. found this for you: ENJOY http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showto...5712&hl=mod lots of pics for reference and a how-to method
  21. Rolexs' official website has some REALLY nice ones for free download, including the new models from basel. and a daytona with a clickable working chrono feature.
  22. i guess some got through. maybe 99.7% of his customers had no idea. i do maintain tho, that some sellers although they should, MAY NOT know their product is counterfeit... with todays super reps and what not, it IS getting harder to distinguish... ive also heard of stories where the watch is NOT 100% genuine from the seller. not genuine crystal, bracelet, etc... since you can sell an oyster bracelet for $400 by itself, some sellers throw on a 3rd party SS one with the logo and increase their profits. so buyer beware, be VERY wary buying things on ebay, especially $5,000 things. thats always the lesson. things usually come with a twist from the ebay galaxy
  23. two tone combo bezel is definietly a unique defining gmt characteristic, also distinguishes between night and day outside at a quick glance
