this rep actually looks pretty good with minor flaws that could only be seen with a side by side comparison of longer than 10seconds. its biggest difference in judging by the pictures alone (so i could be wrong) is that the gen seems to be polished almost everywear and the rep seems flat. with a long side by side, youll notice the crown gaurds are diff, the font on the bezel is a bit thicker, and a few other minor things. but all and all it seems like a very decent looking reproduction.

snow white dial is nice, bezel color could be nice...its just the white plastic looking band
-
i remember someone on here or on repgeek reviewing the no date model and saying it was the same as the sub with date too far to the right and bad rehaut...which is why i didnt even consider it. NO ONE seems to have the one in the picture,

hmmm the bezel looks like plastic, not for me.

maybe SOMEONE should buy up all the 24-703s while they can for future projects and resale ...one day theyll be just like the 702
-
i found some supposed genuine ones for $25 each for 16610 or 14060 size 703. theyre used tho and dont come in an original box. shipping SHOULDNT be TOO much
-
please enlighten me...

i dont understand why youd have to pay tax on something you already own and bought in a different country? is this common practise? ive travelled all over with an off brand ripoff of a sub and many precious metals around my neck, with never a second look.

someone needs to be accountable and i dont believe that dealers are completely unaware of whats going on. it's THEIR business to know. EuroTimez knows EXACTLY whats in every single watch he sends out, so theres my standard and its not alright to get away with it, no excuses if im paying for it.
-
if we DONT make the dealers aware tht we are checking and telling them its NOT ok to get away with it , then it will continue to happen and become common place. So i agree ask for an adjustment in price since it truly isnt what you asked for. its like paying the premium for a genuine rolex and getting, well an extremely well made replica : ) shouldnt happen

looks amazing! 99% flawless ...except for the stamp on the bracelet, but still AMAZING -
REALLY? the D80 FELT of BETTER build? thats the first person ive ever heard say that. the d80 is polycarbonate, where as the 40D is magnesium alloy. ive heard of the plastic bodies warping when people shoot f1 at pit level due to the extreme heat all day. dont get me wrong its a fine camera, its just ive never heard anyone choose a nikon over a canon at the prosumer level due to build quality. Still im sure itll serve you very well for many years to come, and youll be very pelased with it. ENJOY.

theres also knock off extension tubes on ebay for $5 that posistion the lens mount further from the body sensor. so if youre taking a trip to ebay anyways you might want to look into the extension rings from china, do the same thing for the same price maybe even closer up, but dont expose the rear element to un-necessary debris and potential damage... theres also a pringles tin hack that does the same thing for a bit cheaper and plus you get some chips to eat : ) hxxp://www.photocritic.org/macro-photography-on-a-budget/ -
how is buying up porsches before the general public even know its going to be discontinued any different from those assholes that stand in line for days to buy up 10 after learning theyre going to be discontinued only to resell them at a higher price later... or even paying $5grand OVER list price for a daytona because of demand? Even those people that line up to buy the new game systems only to resell them on ebay for 200%. if you can avoid the line up and cheat a little because you can..w.hy not? the world runs on money, in america you cant have life saving surgery unless you have an HMO or are bloody rich.... NOW THATS UNETHICAL. I look out for myself and dont care that you couldnt buy a porsche at the MSRP, live together, die alone

the cheapest jeans usually cost more than the cheapest dress pants in my experience ; )
-
hmmm most sotck brokers i know personally drive ferraris and porsches, there goes that ivory backscratcher they wanted : )

bear stearns has been tanking for way longer than just recently. whats unethical is paying taxes on your income

i think the rep casebacks also suffer from poorly milled dies and as such have produced poorly defined teeth on most if not all case backs
-
im PRETTY sure thats what i used on ALL my oyster style rep casebacks. careful of stripping the teeth tho, i find on the reps its easy to come out of mesh with the caseback when applying pressure and trying to turn. I found holding the wrench tool closer to the middle allowed for greater control but at the expensive of some torque.

anyone got one for "bergeon"
-
hmmm i'd be picky. i mean the whole point of a rep is to try to replicate something as accurately as posible... its kind of disappointing to get something not up to par. i'd send it back personally. to avoid this im only going to buy from people that QC check their pieces like eurotimez, BK, TTK(N/A anymore) the 'superlative' block of text also looks slightly skewed; left heavy. and the bezel paint looks a little sloppy. all the text does actually. like the ink or whatever bled out a bit... could be the image being scaled tho, im not sure

yes marketing is a big deal, but rolex is already established and now theyre probably just coasting off their earlier success with premium markups because of supply and demand. unless of course theyre still paying for their marketing campaigns from the early 40s, 50s and sixties. honestly how many people here have actually watched a yacth race, daytona, or equestrian event sponsored by rolex and noticed that rolex sponsored it, than alone even watched one of those events. rolex has already made their brand a household recognized name. People know what they want and if you build it they will come, these things sell themselves. the LV is sold at a premium over the regular sub because of exclusivity, supply and demand, and it being a new edition to the rolex family. rolex pieces seem to only go up in price, but at some point would logically cap out in terms of material and engineering put into it, the rest has to be profit. people shouldnt blame the fake trade for creating bad working conditions, just because you slap an unauthorized brand logo on something wont mean that those products still wont be created without the recognized logo (my alpha watches were more than likely created in the same factories). the change has to start in all sectors of the market and dont use something you want to stamp out(fakes) for personal/financial reasons as your unethical scapegoat boogeyman. authorized product factories exist in China for a reason... and it aint for dumplings.
