  1. was it everest watch works?
  2. that looks pretty good, the MBKs were always too shiny, and some werent tight enough fits with gen inserts.
  3. rumor has it there is a new and improved version coming soon. there is a pic of the v2 on this board by TC, it looks miles better just from the one pic alone.
  4. sorry guys been busy. what do you want to know? these are not ready for prime time yet, im still inspecting it making sure gen parts fit, but i also dont have all the gen or aftermarket parts available to try on the case. but i'll give you a few specs and a few more pics i just took: nice high crown pos fits 703 tube or 702 already drilled out and countersunk, fits gen bars out of the box, working he valve standard equip, fits all gen parts including a rolex movement or ETA with my personally modified adaptor ring (i must try this to be certain once i get a 1665 dial), gen crystal, gen insert. and i can personally engrave a custom serial (no spelling mistakes) or pick a year and i ll supply one accurate to that year thats not rep blacklisted, no two cases have to have the same serial...have both drsd casebacks and white. engravings are far better than MBKs, and no black paint to pick out. CGs come with a good starting point or leave them as is (crown is posed with rodico so dont judge the height based on that) 5.3M serial puts it at 1978 Red caseback, based on the MBKs but way crisper engraving and no black paint GW will be available. also got my sample tudor dial in from the printers/manufact. not sure why they would give me a non usable dial (no feet and yes the blank is too wide, it wasnt machine cropped!) view those here (my flick): http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7109/7599492554_002295f777_b.jpg http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8166/7599491478_1f340458ea_b.jpg i dont want to hijack this thread with tudor stuff.
  5. the MBK ones werent bad to begin with, only problem was they were too short and caused all sorts of problems with gen inserts and retaining rings. the clark one looks really deep and thick.. hmmm
  6. or like this.... alright i guess i can give you guys a preview of my new case sets ive been digently working on ... goodbye MBK, wish i could of said its been a real pleasure
  7. hope he does it right this time, his current ones are so close, the only ones ive seen with the correct hour hand size, his second hand is almost perfect. minute hand -not so much
  8. thought Gary had some new and improved hands coming too. im looking forward to those.
  9. i dont think so. it comes part and parcel, but wait it out; rumor has it a better more revised version is also coming, and possibly TC has a lead on getting these a la carte
  10. i tried putting a 2836 in a case that was for rolex movements the alignment seemed off by almost a millimeter in the crown tube. you could probably screw it down though with some serious tension on the crown stem, which may not be good for the watch. im wondering if i removed the dial spacer (since this is for a no date sub case, wont work on a date model) if it would improve the situation... but if all youre interested is a "top grade" movement , seriously just keep the 2836 or get TCs case and put in a 2892 A2 (which is what omegas use and is almost or equal to a rolex 3135) $400 total (case+movmnt), better case, better workhorse of a movement thats compatible with gen OMEGA parts
  11. very nice build. i would trim those cgs on the outside if it were mine. the date mag also looks huge. how do you like those hands, and how is the tension in the crown stem since the case was made for ETA? fun build, great results
  12. the mbw bezel assembly is pretty good, probably as good as it will get with out going gen. i have noticed there is a bit of manufacturing tolerance between certain runs and sometimes you will need epoxy to securely fit the insert in the mbw bezel ring, their retaining rings are also pretty tight, more so than gen IMO.
  13. no idea if the problem has been resolved. what movement you putting in it?
  14. looks puny on this man here:
  15. i personally feel you shouldnt have the privilege of owning such a wonderful piece of machinery until you can demonstrate some rudimentary appreciation or understanding of it. IMO
  16. you can get non snowflake models that look as good as a 5513 for $2200 on vrf, then add an aftermarket snowflake dial and hands for $200 and you have your SUPER franken. if you get bored of the look reinstall the gen dial and hands.
  17. interesting, the very idea of this occurred to me just the other day, guess you were sending out 'vibes'
  18. sweet jesus is that a v2 3135? it looks way better than the current SA3135 from that one pic alone! agree with the pursuit of a 1520 clone. there is a viable market here.
