  1. Hey - great find on ebay. Was looking for a dial for an El Primero I am rebuilding, and found one from this seller- part I received was genuine and perfect. He has Omega Breitling, IWC, Cartier, Breguet ORIGINAL dials and parts. My Zenith dial came in original sealed plastic bag with tag & serial numbers. If you are thinking about a Frankenproject, this may be the place!!! Let me know what you think. http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZwatchco-australia -O
  2. I would demand my dough back. If I were expecting an ETA, and got this I'd be on fire. Fantasy watch as well. -O
  3. I would happily take 3 off your hands- especially if they would fit a 6497 movement w/o modification. -O
  4. I'm looking at 2 bare movements- about 2.5mm Best, -O
  5. 2892 has a smoother sweep, but upon looking at both movements, the datewheel on the 2892 is 2.5mm closer to the center of the dial than the 7750. -O
  6. Sadly, I don't think there is any real recourse here. We are dealing with a grey product (ok- not even grey to be honest) and to a certain extent, we get what we get. I am pleased that the reputable dealers on the forum will generally take care of any real problems- and that's likely as good as things are going to get. To really boost the QC would require a serious boycott of product, and that ain't gonna happen. As much as some of the QC problems irritate me, I am pretty pleased with most products, and the service I've received when the product wasn't quite up to snuff. Best, -O
  7. Friends who returned from Baselworld indicated that the 'King' will have a modified 7750 movement inside, so the date location is probably the issue here. AS for the engraved rotor- who knows. The other interesting thing is that they were told that by the end of 2009, Hublot will have completed an in house manufacture movement with multiple modules for chronos, gmt, power reserve, etc... Look for an announcement of a GMT King near the end of 2008, to be shown at the Basel fair in 2009. One last point, if you don't like a watch, that's your thing- but why bait other members here with your commentary, when it is clear that there are so many folks here who like the BB? I like this place, let's not dirty it up. -O
  8. You are right about her willingness to say or do anything. you are also right about the free pass McBush is getting. If it goes to the convention, I will be so amazingly disappointed. I cant even imagine that. -O
  9. I am working for the Obama campaign here in Philadelphia. As a physician, who lived through Hilary's attempt to 'reform' health care, I find her odious- and I am really not interested in all of the drama which would likely come with another Clinton White House. I'll have to back her if somehow she's the nominee, because an alien anal probe would be much better than... John McCain. If you are happy with the job Bush has done for the past 8 years, happy with the war, happy with the economy, happy with the glorious foreign and domestic policies, then vote for McCain- you'll get more of the same, and likely another war with Iran (bomb, bomb, bomb....bomb, bomb Iran he has sung more than once to the tune of Barbara Ann by the Beach Boys.) Obama has ran a good campaign, and despite his inexperience has already demonstrated a readiness to play with the big boys. His health plan while not as initially comprehensive, is much more realistic given the power of the insurance lobby here in the US. Also, I think the rest of the world could use to see someone who looks a little different than the past Presidents- especially in the Middle East- where we are clearly going to have to rework Americ's foreign policy. OBAMA in '08!!!!!! -O (as in Obama!)
  10. could you please tell me where you got this watch to start with, and which model they have it listed as. Thanks, -O
  11. I am not sure which fit and finish issues archibald had, but my 7753 Santos remains the most accurate rep I have. Mine as purchased from Trusty, and the dial is a silvery white, with black numerals and black hands, as on the original. It is expensive, but I was not disappointed, and suspect you will not be either. Best, -O
  12. Snorkeling at about 18-20 feet with mine yesterday, since you asked!!! It was fine. Don't know that I'd go much deeper than that though. As an aside, I am in Miami, and my Chopard GTXXL chrono was signed for by my assistant yesterday....at least I have something to look forward to when I return from my vacation. -O
  13. Went to Chopard boutique in Bal Harbour yesterday, and tried on the genuine. The grey dialed ones are completely sold out as a series- but there is another limited edition 'Manhattan' version. Same watch with an iridescent blue dial- same etched numerals on the crystal. Absolutely gorgeous. Also, found a source for 23mm bands which should fit this watch- should you be looking for leather, croco, or other. WHen you get to the home page, enter '23mm' into the search box, and about midway down the page, the bands start. My GTXXL landed in New York this morning, and should arrive back in Philadelphia around the same time I get back. Can't wait. -O BTW- I had a couple hundred posts not that long ago- WHat happened to 'em? Sorry- here's the link: http://worldofwatches.com/results.asp?d=0
  14. Both my gen Zenith and Eberhard seem to be more prone to stainy looking things on their AR, which pretty much wipe off with a little moisture. Seems to be from oil in the fingers, and actually looks a little like an oil stain as well. I am waiting to get one of these from Andrew- cannot wait. Quick question though- what is the actual strap size? One of the reviews has it listed as 22mm, and on one of the Gen sites is listed as 23mm- which is right, and if they both are, and the gen is 23 and the rep is 22, that precludes the use of an OEM strap or band. I NEED ANSWERS!!!! Sorry, just got nervous there for a minute. Best, -O
