  1. Once again I would ask: Why are folks who are using the forum primarily as a "sales for profit" vehicle allowed to function without becoming trusted dealers..?? One would wonder how long a guy who went to Canal St., and bought $50.00 watches would be allowed to sell them here at $100.00?? My point being: Regardless of the price range and quality of the watches, a dealer is still a dealer...And allowing them to sell their wares on our for sale board creates a tacit sense of approval among our newer members... Just my 2c worth....
  2. I have several watch that are irritating to wear.... My solution has been to wear something else!!
  3. my @5 year old SOSF from I can't even remember where... Asian movement, mineral crystal, no A/R....So effin what!! It STILL keeps time to COSC standards!! :clap2:
  4. As soon as the church makes extra marital sex a requirement for sainthood....
  5. China is "catching up" with the rest of the world........
  6. I never even give it a second thought....After having owned many many watches over the years, I cannot say that I have EVER been in a situation where a lack of A/R has stopped me from determining what time it was!! :pimp:
  7. I still cannot understand why folks who are here almost exclusively to engage in profit oriented sales, are not required to become TD's... It seems to usually be folks who prey upon the weaknesses of dedicated hobbyists who are striving to own that "perfect rep"(that'll NEVER exist!), and are not skilled or knowledgeable enough to build their own... As a person who lurks at the lower fringes of the hobby, and has (and likely will never!!) never paid more than $200. for a rep, I have no skin at all in the game, but I still feel that the forums owe the other guys some diligence. The actions of the admin here in this instance, has been well thought out, and actually a bit liberal compared to what I've seen done in other places in the past. Allowing such activities can often be interpreted as being a tacit endorsement of them, in the eyes of the newer guys who haven't been around long enough to develop a "sense of smell" when reading F/S ads...
  8. Not much interest here on a replica forum for a vintage Omega gen....Try over on TZ vintage forum....It's moderated by a fellow "Ozzer" IIRC...
  9. I keep mine in a very secure place,: guarded by this vicious pair!! They're just fake watches ferchrissakes!!!!
  10. My $30. Silix mongrel looks exactly like that gen!!(colour wise of course!!)
  11. Because they don't need to to sell their wares to 95% of their market... Why should they go all "jiggy" trying to get them perfect just for us geeks...??? And. Do you really want to pay BK type prices for all your reps...???..I certainly don't!!! :pimp:
  12. NOT an "Anderson Cooper" watch today!!.... My trusty(actually from Josh!!) Plopper 21j V 1.5 A21j cheapo that's still ticking away after @ 16 months!! :pimp:
  13. I'm just waiting for noontime 12/21...Then we'll talk!!! :inverted:
  14. My $25. Chopard GTXL, on a $50. Suppaparts mesh : I've had this mesh on a Ploprof, and a Pam 024, but I think it has found its home on this Chopard!! ;)
  15. Couldn't you just remove the pics from the OP...????...Or even better, substitute them with something obscene or detrimental to the scumbag...???
  16. I've seen guys building "franken" reps spending @ 75% of that much!!
  17. My Silix "El Cheapo" 45.5 PO on a strap that sorta matches the bezel insert!!
  18. Here:http://www.silix-prime.co/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=116_231&zenid=mc2eso9j5hcgg42s663u2rk7r2
  19. That's a bargain compared to what some of these modders spend on a"UPO" project...But how can you put a monetary value on that case...???...It's magnificent!!!
  20. Where did you source that gen bezel assembly..????
  21. WoW!!!......That came out even nicer than the counterfeit ones from Viet Nam from last century... One would imagine that if you were to add up your labor costs on that, it'd be a sizable number... there is no way that you could mass produce those cases at any reasonable cost...This one is truly a work of art!!
  22. The genuine Omega vintage collectors must be going crazy now that such an accurate rep is available!! This watch was highly sought after by gen vintage collectors for years, and was also frequently "counterfeited" by some shady operators. Now...Everybody can have one!!...Poof!!...there goes THAT one's "cachet".....
