Only thing I am concerned of when machining a case from a CF block is fiber ends sticking out of the surface. That's a main problem with such parts and a huge advantage of RTM where it is very unlikely.
The carbon can be sealed with a thin coat of clear epoxy resin which would also do very well for scratch resistance. This can be hand applied, cut, buffed, polished or sprayed in light coats for a matte finish. You can also spray a coat of acrylate (crazy glue) which soaks into the cf and gives a nice scratch resistant finish. I have no interest in repping AP cases but I'll try a proof of concept with some thick pieces of carbon I have laying around. I do have a little experience with this sort of thing, this is a solid CF bezel insert for a custom maratec:

A handful of recent projects.. hopefully now that the holiday rush is over I'll have time to actually organize a web site and some new projects.

Haha....I hope so too...otherwise I would have to use my extra special convincing method just for you my friend .
Just trolling this thread.. if anyone is close to a nandos please have an order of chicken livers for me.. mmmmmm...

How about a 202a? If you are gonna own a dsn it might as well be a PVD watch
-
This looke EXACTLY like the watch I picked up on canal street for $40 but with sapphire and AR. With that huge second hand and low vph it might as well have a quartz movement!

That is just plain hot. Stephan is a true artist!

Who's fingerprints on the dial???
You can always count on me to [censored] in your corn flakes!
I LOVE the green!!!! Is the lume bright enough for you? Looks like you could have plans landing on your wrist!
haha never discount the value of "patina" and "charm" when it comes to watches. Whats more charming then the makers blood, sweat, tears or even prints permanently emblazoned on the watch? Just as long as someone doesn't figure out a way to crop out my prints and run my name for warrants is all good!

Nice cali kinda dial. Is this the finished product?....the cut-outs for no.s don't seem too sharp.
What are you putting this dial in?
Cheers
that finish is all applied.. this is the raw dial
goes into one of these

He's keen too, he's posted the handwritten extended guarantee offer twice now in the same thread.
It looks like he makes that offer to everyone on that board so could be that he didnt even really notice that its a fake. Funny though.. you post pics of a bad rep and the president of the company calls you on it.. bahaha

careful.. they are just barely dead!

just got back from the fireworks show.. here are some fireworks of my own:
Please take note of the lume on the hands.. which is a pretty good lume compared to the dial!
-
All this watch needs is a swiss movement, vac lume job, chief double ar, and a solid caseback!
The rep AR on this watch really kills it. Looks like one of those tint jobs you get in tiajuana for $20.

most of the 47mm radiomirs have cool crystals.. heres one of mine
-
thanks for the kind words guys.. the PVD version will be done today or tomorrow.
-
the crown and cg give me a special feeling in my pants.

The Specs:
-44mm Ti case (from fleabay)
-Vintage 6498 "Baylor" branded swiss 6498 movement
-Marina militare hands set
-Sapphire crystal
-Custom sec@6 pam style dial with oversized numbers
-"Pyrolume" sandwich lume
-Black rep strap with sewn in pre-v buckle
I have a Chieftang double AR crystal for this watch but I really don't think it needs it. Look for a PVD, Fiddy, 45 & 47mm Radiomir versions soon.
Pics:
PS The destro version (next project) has the seconds at 12!

Carbon fiber as well.. that dial is just a single layer thick. The watch is set up as a lefty and I swapped in an ETA 2836. I couldn't find lefty date wheels so instead I placed the date at 4:00ish position 231.43 degrees clockwise from the crown. I'm just getting it ready to deliver will take some more pics before I ship.
