  1. Could be that you are quick to label people as homos and in a simple post show you to be plain offensive and get yourself barred. ...just sayin.
  2. Im looking for a chronograph to compliment my divers collection. Wondered if you guys could offer some suggestions? I love Franken watches, particularly gen dials and bezels where possible, Here's my existing stable Franken TC sub, gen dial, insert and crystal. Gen SMP Quartz Franken Planet Ocean 42mm, gen dial, bezel, hands, dw, crystal, crown/tube and he valve. Any pictures or suggestions would be greatly recieved as I'm not sure where to look maybe iwc, brietling, tag? I have thin wrists so I'm not looking for a massive piece. Just something to scratch that chrono itch. Thanks in advance.
  3. Think you will find yourself in love I'm sure!
  4. Great watches. They are different enough to justify keeping both. They can scratch the modern or vintage itch quite perfectly!
  5. I've learnt that despite the money one puts into a Franken, they are never an investment and almost always never sell for anywhere near the actual cost of the build. Bottom line is; Reps will always be reps. My advice is if youre building a Franken, build it with a view to keeping it and enjoy the process. I love the feeling of having an aesthetically identical replica watch for less than half the price of a newish gen. That way I can have more of the watches I love to wear and can be very proud of what's on my wrist knowing its been my hobby for the last 6 months.
  6. Nope. Prefer the classic and won't be selling it. But I'll probably get one too!
  7. Unless you can source the parts cheaper than ofrei and cousins I'm afraid a build like that would rack up to be more than a decent used gen. Mines total cost was pushing it tbh.
  8. Mine has eta 2824 with gen dial which has had the dial feet removed and is fixed to the movement. Guess its my dream Franken too! Also has gen insert and gen crystal. Here it is with my omegas.
  9. Very nice. Mines a TC with gen dial, insert and crystal. My po has gen dial, hands, crystal, dw, bezel, he valve, crown and tube. The smp is gen. Love divers watches and love omegas. Thanks for sharing buddy.
  10. Really nice collection. My photos are no way near as good, But here's my smaller collection!
  11. Wore the smp for a run this afternoon. Now at work wearing the PO.
  12. Correctime; V1 date wheel as the v2 was released after the dial had already been fixed to the movement. V3 bracelet.
  13. Et voila, just to recap. Gen dial, hands, eta dw, crystal, crown and tube, bezel and he valve! On NATO for now until I sort springbars out for my bracelet or opt for a gen rubber.
  14. Looks great. The rep crystal on my 42 po left the gen dial looking a little yellow on the markers and the blue hue was over the top. I opted for gen and was lucky enough to land the newer style crystal for the PO's with reduced blue hue. Bottom line, standard rep crystal needs to go, essential mod on a po is a crystal mod.
  15. I find that to push as much in as possible by rolling fingers around evenly, there should be a action about a cm long which can then be pressed in by using the edge of a wooden table or on a nylon die. It takes some push but clicks in easy. (that was on TC sub btw).
  16. Here's the case with the movement and crown installed, new gasket and crystal now fitted.
  17. So after a long wait, I ordered a new gen bezel yesterday, later today it will arrive and I can wear my po once more. Can't wait......
