I need 1 set.
Thanks

One more question.
Where can I buy the crystal beside getting the gen?
Thanks again
-
Afaik, it's the same as contemporary crystal. 3.5mm center, ~2.95mm at the edge, 35.5mm diameter.
W0lf is da man.
Thank you very much.

Hi,
May I know what is the correct crystal (edge and center) thickness per gen for 44mm Pre-A PAM?
What is the correct diameter?
Thank you very much for your help.

FGD = fishgodeep
An expert who is very versed about PAM.
His Pre-V and Pre-A dials are best and closest to gen.

Special thanks to FGD.

Wow! I know how much time and effort went into each of those pieces. What a wonderful collection. I would be ecstatic to have any one of those.
Thanks. This is down to the last few pieces for my collection. The last one to be added is a Pre-A 001 and I think I'm done.

Hi Guys ...
Post man came and left these in my mail box.
(From left to right) FGD's latest Pre-A PAM001 dial, DSN's Pre-A caseback, Opcrown palp's crown
Review for each item
1.) FGD's latest Pre-A dial is awesome. The dial is prelumed and looks vintage with the correct yellowish aged colour, very very well done "12","3","6" numerals and the font for the text and "T-Swiss-T" are spot on. I compare the dial with a gen pic and it look damn close. Special thanks to FGD for helping me. A true gentleman and it is really my pleasure knowing a great member here like you.
2.) DSN's older Pre-A caseback with some minor flaws. First, the caseback is too thin. Second, the engravings are too close to the round edge where there should be a gap in between on the gen (see gen pic below).
Anyway, just got a reply from Jakobh that he plan to have some Pre-A caseback done in his next run. Guess I'll wait.
3.) Opcrown palp's crown is worth a mention here. Most rep crowns suffer the same problem with the bevel edge shaved off too much thus making the crown look thinner. Not in this case, the bevel edge is nicely done making the crown look thicker.
Next, I also found the right candidate for the mod. Yes, I am going to convert my PAM01B into a Pre-A PAM001.
Current PAM01B has
- DSN's earlier version luminor marina dial relumed, matt coating on dial and converting "T-S-T" to "T S T" by zigmeister.
Same dial spec as member W0lf's PAM01.
- T48 crown (Nice crown but wanted to try Opcrown palp's crown)
- Old Skool EL's case
- Thick old skool caseback which is correct for PAM01, 02
Not really sure to go ahead with the conversion at first but decided to do so because it has most of the parts needed and ready for the mod.
Pic of the current PAM01B (left) and pic of a gen Pre-A 001
Will update pics when the project is completed.
Thanks for viewing.

Looks gen to me. the dial has correct letter "A" font, thick numeral "6" but the funny thing is that the dial with "L swiss made L" and metal rings surrounding the hour markers are supposed to happen from D series onwards. C series PAM24 should not have metal ring surrounding the hour markers at least this is what I know from the pics I saw.
It could be the seller send it back to PANERAI for service and PANERAI replaced a new dial for him.

Nice one W0LF.
Here's mine with the same 2006 DSN's dial (T-S-T to T S T), aged lume and matt coating by the Ziggmeister.

Looks like it got wet inside?
It is the lighting or glare.

Takashi's DW has bolder font and the date number looks bigger with the weak mag cyclo

Watcheden is selling them
http://www.watcheden.com/panerai-lum...41234-p-1.html
A number of flaws to address.
- Wrong teeth size around the bezel edge
- Bezel dots are too tall
- No CG lever roller
- Giveaway display caseback
- Wrong DW
Rumour has it that the dealers are working on a better version

Hi j... First off I'd say that I'm surprised you say it stand out loudly. I have a couple of these on my own watches and can't see any hue unless I have it directly under strong flourescent light. I'd say take a better look under normal everyday conditions before you decide to remove it.
Anyhow if you do remove it, I'd suggest mounting it on the crystal first, and then buffing it off with rouge or the like.
Good luck!
Thank you chief.
I think the line "stand out loudly" was used incorrectly. Sorry for the wrong choice of words.
The situation is what you mentioned above. The pink / purplish hue are seen only directly under flourescent light.
Can I PM you some pic for further advise?
Thanks again chief

buffing machine will take care of it.
Thanks
Has anyone tried this before with good result?
Appreciate advise and comments.
Thanks

Hi,
I recently installed a Chief's cyclop with AR for one of my A series PAM project . The mag power is very good but the hue from the AR stand out loudly as compared to the crystal with AR stripped. This is incorrect for an A series model.
Can anyone suggest any method that will get rid of the cyclop AR?
Hope the expert can chime in and of course it will be nice if chief is reading my post and advise.
Thanks all

Hate to rain on your parade but this is a fantasy model.
Use the search button and find a decent rep from the trusted dealers here.
For UDS100 to 150, you'll find better deal like PAM111H (handwind). As for auto pam reps, be prepare to pay more.
Hope this helps

The DW looks fine. Did you by any chance swapped in a Lello's DW?
Well, because most of the old school PAM48/50 rep had the wrong DWs which are too thin.
If this is the original stock DW, then congrats. I don't think you need to replace it.
The DW font do not blow up bigger because the rep cyclop lens magnifying power is weak. I think this is the only thing you need to mod.
The caseback looks great and "C" series is correct with "L Swiss L" dial. Good luck.
This is a fine looking watch which will grow on you each day.
