  1. I will say (and I'm sure a lot of people will disagree with me on this) that if I do buy another gen soon, it will probably be this one again--but the newest model with the metal Omega ohm symbol, and the red-print "Seamaster" on the dial.

    I.E., the 2225.80:

    not the 2599.80:

Nice watch. Can you tell me where you got it and also do you know if anyone is selling the 2225.8 with the red seamaster.

    Thanks so much.

pretty much spot on .. the only thing that would need adressing is the Lume which in the genuine is Superluminova.. the lume out of the box on this rep is very good though.. and of course the rotor could be engraved for more accuracy

Love this watch and it ooks like a pretty nice rep with the fonts pretty damn good. where did you get it from? Thanks

  3. The best movement is a Genuine ETA 7750 or 7753. There is no ETA running seconds at 6 model, it doesn't exist. If cost is no factor, then go with the ETA model.

Or you can always upgrade your A7750 (12-9-6) to an ETA7750, just like I did on my Breitling that I posted a couple of days ago.

The Asian 7750 models (all except the running seconds at 6 ones) are all fine, but all have the same lack of proper servicing as delivered. The majority of Asian 7750's have no problems and work fine as delivered, some don't and need to be serviced right away to get them to work correctly.

Any movement will need to be serviced on a regular basis to make sure it keeps working as it should, and doesn't wear out. ETA or Asian, it doesn't matter, they all need to be serviced at some point.

Are there any swiss movements out there that would run seconds at 6?? Looking the Planet ocean Chrono and the Rolex Daytona but don't want to deal with the asian 7750 issues.

  4. I would never take a rep into any water, including showers or washing hands, until/unless it had been properly pressure tested. Alot of people do it without any problems, but there are also alot of posts that begin with something like 'My watch is supposed to be waterproof, but it filled with water when I showered'. Unless you can afford to replace it, I would play it safe & remove your watch whenever you are near moisture. Better safe than sorry.

is there any reason why reps can't be waterproofed. Can The Zigmeister waterproof for example. Anyone know how much that might be - PM me if preferred with that info.

    Thanks

  5. I am still very new to this forum and tryiong to learn as much as possible. Is there any difference between the most respected dealers out there that are written about in these forums in terms of quality of product sold. Specifically are any of them particulalrly strong on certain brands. I am looking at Omega, Rolex, Breitling, and Panerai.

Please PM me if you don't want to express views in the forum. Thanks to you all. This forum is a great help to uninformed newbies like myself.

  6. Thanks guys. The Zigmeister does that mean best movement to have would be the ETA 7750 or ETA 7753 for both seconds placement and date. Does the ETA have problems with seconds at 6 or not bnecause of the same thickness as unmodded version?? Also any problems with the Asian 7750 with dials in the 12,9,6 seconds at 9 or 9,3 with seconds at 9 as in some of the Panerai chronos??

    Thanks again

  7. newbie question on the 7750 movement. I have seen many posts re problems with seconds at 6 with 3,6,9 sub-dial config due to modification. Does this same issue apply to 12,9,6 with seconds at 9, or 3,6,9 with seconds at 9 or, 9,3 with seconds at 3 or 9. Just trying to figure out if the 7750 is always modified for chronos or not and which would be best config to go for. If the 7750 always has problems, what are the other options out there that work well. Not looking to modfiy, just looking for best options off the shelf.

    Thanks, Iain
