could we see a picture of your rig ?

does the second hand still sweep but the hour and minute hand stop ? but when you wind the hands in the setting position the hands move ? could this be a loose cannon pinion not picking up the power from the centre wheel ?

acklands. the number drill bits ie #54 etc. drill undersize and hand ream for drive in fit

will send you a pm

the 5.3 tube should fit however all reps have qc problems and you may need to re-tap the hole. there is never a guarantee that gen parts match the reps in regards to thread dia and pitch

just wondered if anyone has built yuki's 5517 mil sub. looking for a project...not a pain though using a gen 1530 movement
-
i have had the same issue twice from ndt. very aggravating. it was not the movement. i made a scraper out of a triangluar file and cut the ring down to allow the movement to drop in. the second time i chucked up a round diamond stone in a jewellers drill press and carefully with small cuts got the ring cut down and then scraped it. the scraper is just very hard steel and hollow ground on a wheel minding heat build up not to loose the temper

three rubies and one date seating rivet

I happen to have a nos correct date seat...for the gmt

Nice find! post a WTB on the gen boards. Dial and hand set will run you about $800-$900. Depending on how patient you are... can cost you more.
One thing I notice with your movement. The date disc seat looks wrong. It should have 3 rubies on top. It could be a standard seat that has been shimmed. The date disc seat is a very hard part to find. I found a NOS from a seller in HK, but it cost me $300. I could have just shimmed it, but I wanted it to be proper. The difference between the two is 0.20mm in thickness. The taller seat is required for the date disc to clear the extra 24H gears. You won't know until it is removed, but from the pictures, it looks as if the date disc is sitting high enough to not interfere with the gears.
The other thing that I notice, is that the screw that holds down the date driver does not look to be screwed down very far. This could be a problem if it pops off. There is a stud on the mainplate that needs to be replaced in order for the screw to catch and secure the driver properly. check out this picture to see what I mean.

does anyone know of what the market is asking for a gen 618 rollie movement ?

I'm not sure I understand your question.
the second hand is carried on the fourth wheel pinion. the tube on second hand that slips over the pinion is double in length of a regular movement ie a 1530 vs a 1565gmt. i just wonder if the ofrei part would work. if it did i would like to do that mod too
-
would not it need a long post as it is a gmt hand ?
-
perhaps in brass/bronze ?
-
its a personal call but...to pay that much... i think you would be better saving up til you can get a genuine tudor sub. you would not loose money on a genuine. it is perhaps better to use replicas for watches that are just plain stupid to buy ie a mil sub or daytona(in my opinion)unless money is of no concern of course

nice panda. are you a watchmaker ?
-
are you looking for a specific movement ? rolex has technical information booklets based on the calibre ie 1030 or 1530
