  1. I had one card, I think Bank of America, that would always decline foreign Internet payments. Two other cards were never a problem.
  2. He's looking for a ceramic 2010 model. Since it's for his father, I bet his father would like the original Sub model better anyway. I know I would. I think the OP should have a look at the SSD. That's about as close to gen you can find other than the WM9 Sub.
  3. I don't see any reason this couldn't be done with either a Dremel or small drill press and a file. Spin it and file it down to size. Somebody try it and report back.
  4. It's been working fine for me.
  5. My Ebel 1911 did the same thing. Apparently it's not too difficult to fix. I had it done for next to nothing.
  6. Lien laws vary from state to state so you really need to get local advice. In Florida you should have the GC get separate release of lien's signed by each subcontractor that does major work. Generally your roofer, electrician, HVAC(mechanical), and plumber will cover most work of consequence. The should be made available before the final payment is made to each of them. At the end of the job make sure you have these plus a signed general release of lien from the GC. Make sure they are notarized. Also make sure you file a "Notice of Commencement" at the start of the job. This is usually required by "Building and Zoning either prior to getting a permit or before the first inspection and is filed at the County Court House. Without it properly and timely filed you cannot enforce the lien laws even if you have the release of liens.
  7. That's a beauty! AJoeSmith just posted another 4813 with tall cp on RG about an hour ago. Maybe, if you hurry?
  8. Let me throw in one more quick comment. Don't forget the cost of ownership here. You buy a used watch that will probably need servicing at the tune of what, $500 at the RSC? $500 every 5 years? That's $100 a year for the pleasure of wearing an overpriced watch that everybody's gonna think is fake anyway. I'd stick with the WM9 cause once you have the gen you'll probably leave it at home and wear the WM9 just cause you don't want to scratch it.
  9. No offense, but you guys all sound like the same people that were buying houses in the last 3 or 4 years cause the prices were going up. Now most of them are in foreclosure. Sometimes memories are soooooo short. Don't listen to me but I'm telling you, Take care of your necessities first and them worry about your bling.
  10. A used Sub is probably not going to lose much in value but it sounds like it shouldn't be your priority at the moment. You've got plenty of time to buy a watch in the future. Now you should be saving for more important things in life. A gen watch is a luxury, not a necessity. You'll be ready for a gen when you don't have to ask this question. Be happy with the WM9 Sub. You won't be able to tell the difference anyway.
  11. Congratulations. Glad you didn't do what most of us do and screw up the keyless works on the first try removing the winding stem. Or did you solve the problem without having to take out the stem?
  12. I see disaster written all over this thread...........
  13. I bought one of those for my brother in law for Christmas and it's already broken. I wouldn't recommend it.
  14. OOPS! Sorry, it comes with a 2824-2. I should know better. Since it has a custom movement spacer made for 2824-2, it might be a problem. PM BK and ask for the definitive answer. Edit: meant to say movement spacer.
  15. Yes, it comes with a 2836 movement.
  16. She must be a blond, like mine.
  17. I'm pretty sure that's a scam site. A knock off of Josh's site. Here's the correct URL: http://www.perfect-hour.com/index.php
  18. The 2824's are missing too many parts unless you've got a non date use for it. Also seems to be missing the wheel for the hour hand.
  19. I'm with you, it's driving me crazy too. I don't see an answer. If you raise the date wheel you don't have enough clearance from the dial to install the GMT hand. Freddy, the Rolex style date wheel is already attached and it is actually hitting on the little gear that is used to set the GMT hand. It won't allow it to snap over quickly and hangs it up. Sanding either the date wheel or what it's attached to won't help with the clearance. Only thing I can imagine is a different style date wheel that doesn't have the little spokes that stick out over the movement.
  20. Actually, they are different thickness, I believe. Not that I could tell from looking at my watch with the case back off. But as mentioned before, I've only seen the 2813 in nickel plate.
  21. Looks just like the 4813 that I bought from AJoeSmith a while ago. It's been running fine in a LV Sub for over a year and it runs quite smoothly. They might make the same one in lo-beat, I don't know. I don't think you can tell from looking at the balance wheel. Pu a second hand on it and then watch it.
  22. Getting the green GMT hand is a problem I think. I got a set with red GMT hand from ewatchparts.com for the 2893-2. They are also available on eBay. It's not easy getting the GMT hand to fit over the hour markers on the dial and, of course, the other hands need a little "adjustment" to work properly after getting the GMT hand set. Rolex had the right idea going with the small hour hand first on the dial..
  23. I'm concerned about that myself. I haven't received the hands yet but it looks like it's going to be awful tight. What I don't understand is that I'm using the spacer that comes with the movement and the date wheel looks positioned perfectly. Very close to the dial. So, in theory the hands should work, I would think. But those dial markers are awful tall and unless there is a decent size tube on the hands, it could cause problems.
  24. I'm with Freddy on this one. Might as well do it right the first time.
  25. I don't think you're gonna see anything from Clark for a while. He still hasn't re-opened his eBay store. One the other problems, I can't see Customs having a problem with some parts from Yuki. How would they know if the rep or not? A dial and band wouldn't seem to cause any notice.
