Anyone have any cool RSS feeds they monitor regarding reps, gens, or general horology?
As a blackberry addict, I'm loading up FreeRange with all kinds of neat stuff for mobile reading.
This site has a feed for general and the trade area, if you didn't know..

Count me in for run 5, the Ingy begs of ye.

Lello,
Got the package today - many thanks, looks outstanding!
I may order another on the hope that the newly announced "Big Ingy" gets repped, as it looks to use the same datefont.
Thanks again!

Outstanding!
I can't wait to get mine.
Now, can anyone tell me how hard this will be for a newb to replace if I get the DW+O as planned?
Is this something that I should send the whole watch out for?
Thanks!!

Covers? Covers??
Some watches have a tube around the spring bar in the end link. The tube is cut at an angle so that if it is rotated one way it covers the spring bar. You just take your Bergeon band tool and use the end that looks like a very small fork to rotate that tube. I don't think you can do this with a leather watch band tool.
Otherwise there is usually a slot that the small fork will fit into and be able to slide back the spring bar and this may be the cover to which you are refering. There is a special tool that will do both end at the same time, but usually I just catch one end of the spring bar and pull that side of the end link out just a tiny bit so that the spring bar cannot pop back into the hole. Then go get the other side. As you slide it out be sure to keep your finger tips on either side of the end link or you will be on your hands and knees hunting for the spring bar after it pops out.
You need the band tool that has the very small fork in it though. The best one is the Bergeon 6111 and you will forever thank yourself for buying that one.
/Tim
I have the Bergeon 3153, and apparently it's too big as it will not fit into the openings. Time to buy the smaller tool, I guess.
Thanks!

Anyone care to walk me through removing this band? There are those "covers" over the springbar area, and I don't want to hurt anything...
Thanks in advance

Anyone use these guys before? They have some decent prices on bands - I'm likely gonna grab a new croc for the FA Jones, and a strap for the PO Ultimate.

What ref# is the model often spoke of as the "Slevin"?

I got somehow tired of my PO 4gen Orange myself, but I swapped to a black bezel insert. That made the watch all new and fresh to me. A very easy operation, and my supplier sent me the insert in no time.
Jonas
Can you give me details on how to get the parts and do the operation?
Many thanks!

I have the 4th gen PO, and there are a few light dings/scratches that somehow found their way into my bezel. Does anyone know if you can polish these out?
Otherwise, anyone know how hard it is to swap bezels?
For some reason this watch doesn't thrill me anymore, and the cosmetic dings aren't helping
Thanks in advance,
M

I managed to get spots in the AR on a Gen Breitling I own, and to correct it I removed all the AR with a Cape Cod cloth and some elbow grease.

Guys,
Like the IWCs before them, the JLC reps don't seem to get much press on the boards. I'm currently looking for a nice JLC to add to the stable, but know very little about these reps. Has anyone done a review of the JLC reps, or does anyone have some first hand wisdom to pass on?
Thanks!

1 for me, please.

That Brequet is outstanding, gets my vote. My 2nd choice was the Zenith. I like them both, but I'd give a kidney for a good quality rep of that Brequet.
Beyond that, thanks to RT and Co. for even asking the community what we'd like to see produced. Just another reason this place is special.

I ordered one of these with the box set from Trusty on Monday - I can't wait to get it!
How long was it from order to delivery to you?

I had the exact same thing happen to a Gen Breitling - drove me nuts. It looks like the watch is always dirty.
The way I fixed it was to buff off the external coating on the crystal with Cape Cod and a dremel.
Good luck

When looking at a GMT rep, what does it mean when it says "GMT HAND: Yes (Self adjustable via screw crown)"
Are there some reps that this is not the case?
Do most GMT's actually work (function) and accurately show another time zone?
I'm currently in the market for a vintage Explorer 2 - if anyone has recommendations, it's appreciated!

Hi,
If you're looking for a strap for a Panerai, look at http://www.paneristi.com/straps/index.html as there are a ton of decent sources there.
Personally, I've bought from TCStraps.com and have found them to be a very decent value. Also, check out http://www.europelli.com/ for very decent straps. Every once in a while Drew has some gators that are outstanding.
Good luck!

Ok then, I'll go first. I'm attaching my feed list for your use if you use a mobile RSS reader. I recommend FreeRange if you use a Blackberry, it rocks.
Watch related highlights: IW, ThePuristS, Paneristi, RWG, HR, WatchingHorology as well as a few others.
Enjoy.
