  1. What i meent by cure was just rehab ect, a normal person shouldent let there fameli suffer like this. And diabetic is far from the same thing, im afraid!

Actually there is a lot more similarity than you may imagine. And you're right, a normal person would never do the things that an Addict would. That's why they consider it

an illness. Look at  Alcoholism for example. Alcohol is mostly carbs,

and Alcoholics do not process it the same way that a regular person might.

Consider the possibility that the Alcoholic/Addict, like the Diabetic, lacks an enzyme needed to metabolize the alcohol a or even another substance

    like heroin.

  2. Yes it is very sad- I always enjoyed his work very much. A very realistic actor, hard to find.

And I think it's also sad that we sit here and pass judgement. Alcoholism/Drug Addiction is a complicated 'diesease', not simply defined a a moral issue

involving degenerate weaklings with no 'will power'. Many times it has a genetic basis. BTW- I would say that Suboxone ( buprenorphine) has become the more popular

opiate substitute. Can be done outpatient in a private doctor's office, without much hassle. Of course the drugs & alcohol are a small problem overall. It's a 'brain disorder'

involving the neural circuits for reward/avoidance. Plus, the ever present danger of 'relapse' even after a period of sobriety, as what seemed to happen here. That's why people

keep attending AA/NA, etc. They know if they don't keep a vigilant state this is the fate that may await them.

  3. The buyer is nuts, and doesn't deserve the money back IMO. It's hard to say for sure, but that mov't looks gen to me.

I can't see the jewel seat, are there 3 cutouts? That seems to be a reliable sign of the gen. Many clones are stamped now,

and I think there are a lot of hybrid Gen/Clones as well. If a person sells a rep, I would say 'sold as Swiss'. You  (or the TDs)

can not be expected to open every back and check the mov't. If someone wants a 100% guarantee; they should get a gen. Or

at least buy from someone like BK who installs his own Gen mov'ts.

  4. Yep, nonsense. There are several dealers offering new ETAs whose movements have been verified by more members than I could even begin to count.

There are still lots of new ETAs out there - they are not rare, I could buy a hundred today from Ofrei, thousands from a wholesaler.

John, actually I don't see many Swiss mov'ts offered anymore. The BP factory does, but they are not new and are probably

Old recycled/hybrids. Most new Noob watches come with clone, SOMETIMES they have Swiss upgrades. But they are now super expensive, Check out Angus.

(I've seen them for more than $200! Bk sells them but we're now in the $600-700 range for a Sub. That's why a number of people are going with Seikos, and

    lower priced Gens-IMO

Too bad about the AR. It's funny that the SMP version has a great crystal with AR.

The mov'ts are problematic. They all lie (except Marvellous Replica) saying they are Swiss 2824-2. The base plate says 2836!

Some of look like they were partially erased. MR is the only guy to state the mov't are 'reclaimed' There tend to be problems with the keyless works and

the crowns strip very easily. The good news- when they're working, they work well. Mine keeps good time and has a nice PR

177 L from H Factory.  Great watch except for the crappy mov't that came with it. One of the better H Factory CGs too IMO, on par with the

Noob. That's one part that seems to be much better on the Noobs in general. On the other hand, I think the H Factory's crystal are usually excellent.
