  2. Thanks for the response. That works out for me since that is about what I paid for the Breitling. And, yes it is smalller than the Breitling, but it feels about the same since the face is so large compared to the rest of the watch. Anyway, thanks again. C
  3. Anyone?
  4. I am about to trade my gen Breitling Chronomat for an IWC Portofino. I've tried looking around, but can not find any information on this specific watch. If anyone has any ideas on what this watch is worth, I would appreciate any input. Thanks ahead of time. C
  5. Very interesting read. Thanks Robbie. C
  6. All good points. Plus, going from no watch to a $20,000 watch, assuming they even recognized it, would be a tell. Omega's are a good starting point and they have many different styles. If you want subtle, take a look at the Aqua Terra. A little more flashy would be the PO chrono. Head over to one of the dealers sites and go through the list. I would also suggest looking for something that has a gen value of $5,000 or less.
  7. I wasn't going to post as my picture is so bad compared to the first few, but then I saw TeeJay's and figured what the heck. So here is my "new" Lum-Tec that I got Friday. This thing glows like a freakin' torch. Sorry no lume shot, but you know what it looks like. C
  8. Ditto that. It looks like the bezel is correct, just the insert is off a tad. Maybe a minute or two under the hair dryer and it will spin pretty easily into place. Once it cools it should sit tight. Nice pearl on that one. I wouldn't dump it just because the insert is off. Like the others say, it is a known problem and an easy fix. Good luck.
  9. Ditto on that. I drilled a hole in my dial and bought a new movement just so I could have a date on my custom watch. Not perfect, but I was going nuts without it.
  10. Try the Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra Trusty has them here, but his pictures really do not do it justice.
  11. Great Story. Glad you are okay.
  12. The Channel J12 is on the mark. The Cartier Tanks also seem to be pretty good.
  13. I agree with Toadtorrent, except I lean towards the Omegas. I currently have a PO and am looking to get another of different color. I had the Carrera, but got rid of it when I sold my 911; couldn't deal with the constant reminder. Both are great reps so you can't go wrong with respect to looks. C
