  1. Yes on the ceramic bezel, and the finish on the bracelet would be "just right" in my opinion - quite nice matte black. It reflects a bit, but it's a perfect matte black. I'm a huge fan of the look.
  2. My roommate and I got some new reps in the mail today, courtesy Joshua. Here's some pics. We're real happy about the quality. Both are Asian movements, and while I notice it's slightly louder then my Swiss ETA GMTII ceramic (my 'daily' watch), I love the look of the Pro Hunter, think I might have to pick one up for myself now that he's got it...a little too big for my taste though haha. Maybe a Pro Hunter Sub or something along those lines. The pearl on the PH is what really gets me - it looks so much better then most of the pearls on reps I've seen. Quality piece and looks stunning. I think if an all-black rollie is your thing, it's a must have. While I've never seen a Gen Milguass, the sapphire really does it...looks pretty great. Since it's tough to capture in pics, the best way to describe the glass is simply everything reflects 'green' and the glass has a nice green ring around it where it meets the case. The watch is simple and quite the oddball of the Rolex collection, but I like it for something different to wear around on random days when the GMTII needs a break. I like it a lot...kind of wish I got the white though. The green lume is good for a rep, but the orange doesn't seem to illuminate, and the orange paint on it looks a little 'fuzzy'. The rehaut engraving is very low key on this watch, I didn't even notice it for a minute when unpacking the piece. But it does suffer from that ever-so-slight wide 'O' (as in the letter O in rolex) that drives me mad on my GMTII as one of it's major flaws. It's also not very deep, which is a plus to me because it's less noticeable. Overall, the Milguass is an awesome watch for the price though. Different compared to my usual taste, but I am a fan. It looks quite accurate in my opinion, but I'm still learning and haven't seen one in real life, so my opinion there only goes so far compared to many others here. Hence the pics I know I'm no By-Tor when it comes to watch reviews, but just a newb trying to give back to the quality this forum provides. Hope you enjoy.
  3. In an SS band, not the tacky gold...it's already a bright enough watch. See, there's the light blue above, which I like (although I know many of you will disagree and that's understandable) but there's the darker blue too (see below) Any place rep the light blue one well?
  4. I will do this for sure, been a little busy but that'd help a bunch!
  5. I recently bought a Seadweller Deepsea rep from a reputable seller on here, but after less than a full month of use, it's stopped. It was not subjected to any unual or extreme conditions, and the usual shake/wind/tap don't make any sort of change. I cannot hear anything rattling inside if I shake it. I'm working with the seller right now, but I'm not sure if he'll be able to help me. If he can't, what might I try next? Thanks for any help!
  6. Ok, so I got my new watch and adjusting the clasp I messed up big. You know the spring loaded pin to take the bracelet off on the non-adjustable end? Well I put it in upside down, and now I can't easily access the slots to get to the spring pin. What do I do?
  7. Damn. I couldnt have dreamed of a better reply... I've read a lot of your posts and I always say to myself when I buy another rep its going to be from you, well that's a given now. Check your PMs
  8. Thanks. I feel the same way and I guess aside from someone on here repairing it, I had already chalked it up to a loss. I have the "swiss" movement in this watch, do you think downgrading to the Asian to save money will be a bad idea?
  9. well I've had my noobmariner for an entire 4 months and I think I've had it all when it comes to luck with the damn thing. first day I had it, I took it to a little jewelry stand to have the band adjusted. The moron stripped and messed the watch all up, and I ended up having a piece of a lug stuck in end of the connector that puts the clasp to the band. I rigged it so it would work when I got home - I didn't have time to mess with the watch and I figured I would just take it to the mall down the street to just have it done "right." boy was I wrong...guess it's my fault for even trusting someone like that who couldn't even speak english. Then the pearl fell out a month later. I got another insert from my dealer, and that one fell out again. And the gorilla glue stuck the bezel shut. So there goes the moving bezel. frustrating - took a few times to get it in there right and by the time all was said and done, the damn pearl fell out agaaaaain. ugh!!! and here's the killer. i'm outside and the lug that's shoved into the lug hole fell out. watch lands on the pavement. no visable/noticable scratches. few days later, i notice the watch completely lost 4-6 hours of time. now when I adjust my watches time to catch it up, i notice it hits spots where there feels like theres no resistance, and the minute hand "hops" forward. i'm assuming the impact stripped a gear. so, is it game over for my sub? should I just get a ceramic asia movement GMT2 and call it a day? i really liked my two tone sub, but she's hurtin right now... maybe someone on here would be interested in making a few bucks on the side fixing it up? you tell me, i'm kinda irritated, and no, i know it's not entirely the watches fault. just bad luck IMO
  10. hey, I have a TT submariner from TrustyTime (this is the noobmariner, right?) located here for reference: http://www.trustytime88.com/index.php?main...4394541cd685a42 I LOVE THE WATCH, and it's awesome...but I have a few things I need to fix on it to make myself completely satisfied. 1. The pearl in my insert fell off awhile ago. I emailed Andrew and he sent me another insert piece a week later. I pried the insert out with a razor between the glass and the insert, and pop, it came out. Cleaned the watch out, and looked at the new insert to discover the fact that the original insert is flat on the bottom, and the replacement I recieved was bevelled on the bottom, which meant less surface area could touch the watch and prevent it from securing properly. After super gluing it down, I came to the conclusion it didn't fit properly, and being a fool, I threw the other insert out...mainly because I scratched it up to hell getting it off. Well. now glue is seen on the gold a little bit and the insert isn't centered. Not to mention the pearl in this one looks weaker then the original. I'm open to buying a new insert, but how do I know which is going to fit? Since this doesn't fit right, it doesn't center right and it totally hurts when looking up close. Any suggestion on which to buy? Preferably nothing super expensive. 2. When I first got the watch, I took the watch to some non-english speaking character at the mall to have links removed. After telling me he can't do it right and charging me 10 dollars, I discovered one of the threaded ends of the bolts that hold the links was broken off, left into the threading. GREAT. I've tried casually poking at it and what not, but it looks like I'm going to have to drill her out or something...advice? Guy was an idiot......i removed the links myself later on, that's what I get for being lazy and not feeling like doing the easy job myself... 3. I've been losing time like crazy...2-4 minutes a day. I realize you can adjust that screw inside the watch, and that's what I planned on doing. Until when I was laying down in bed and went to look at my watch to see the second hand had stopped! I shook the watch a little, and it fired right back up. I usually wear it to sleep, but now since I'm laying the watch down flat as of last night, it seems like it's not losing time anymore. How does one explain that?! Thanks for your help! Love this site!
  11. SO FRUSTRATED... Andrew told me he would send me an insert that would fit for 18 shipped. Not a problem, I'm cool with getting another from him, knowing it'll probably fit the watch best. I'm over here trying to remove the insert (I'm assuming the insert is what you guys consider the part that's wrapped around the crystal and turns, acting as a dive timer or whatever) and I'm scratching the [censored] out of it even with protection. I'm trying to use a razor, and a jewelers screwdriver. Is it really that hard to remove the insert??? Should I cut my losses and just drop the pearl in? The scratches aren't THAT noticeable but they're enough to [censored] me off. I feel liek I'm going on a downward spiral here.
  12. This is a little nit-picky, but I won't lie I love my rep...my month-old two tone Submariner I purchased from Trusty is missing that white/lume pearlish insert as of earlier today and I'm a little heated about it! what's the easiest way to obtain a replacement? it's stupid, but I really have no use in wearing a Rolex replica with a small piece missing...talk about making it look cheap..
  13. Yeah, mine is pretty close to a gen from what I can tell...couldn't find a great vid though, everything was blurry as hell. Speaking of which, I tried to take pics today, and couldn't get anything worthwhile out of it, my cheapo digicam doesn't have any presets or manual focus :/
  14. thanks! i will put pics up tommorrow or over the weekend for sure.
