  1. I don't know a jeweler who can plate. But how hard is it to find one who can? And how much would it cost?
  2. How does plating hold over time? And what did Homer say specifically about the plating?
  3. Looks like Homer is winding in a landslide. Now to decide what combination! I'm heavily leaning towards the Rose Gold/White Dial. Looks really classy.
  4. Which movement is better? The Million Smart or the modified Seagull? Nice Seagull watch. Where to get one and how much?
  5. If Homer's was just 2mm larger from 40mm to 42mm, I would be all over it.
  6. Homer's River's I'm worried how these movements will hold up over time, and how much it cost to repair/service them (if possible).
  7. I'm also really digging the Hamilton Jazzmaster Viewmatic in Rose Gold too: Nice watch and would give me plenty of $$$ left over.
  8. I do like the Omegas in this price range. But I mostly see them priced in the $1100 area and would really like to stay $1000 or less. If the Hamilton deal falls through I might jump on an Omega.
  9. The Stowa Airman looks pretty awesome. But it seems to be a brushed finish
  10. I just found a month old for sale listing for that exact Hamilton. I'm hoping it isn't sold yet!
  11. Thanks for the suggestions. After looking through more watches, I think I would like a more dressy watch to go with my BCE and Fiddy. So I'm looking at this right now: http://www.overstock.com/Jewelry-Watches/O...08/product.html? or this: http://www.overstock.com/Jewelry-Watches/H...10/product.html?
  12. Oooh, I do really like the look of the Hamilton Action Chrono. Although it seems to be mainly brushed finished. I'm looking for more of a polished finish
  13. The Seamaster is nice option. I do want to add some more criteria: Absolutely no quartz movement. Polished SS casing. Display caseback.
  14. As the title says, I'm interested in buying my first gen. My eyes are currently set on Oris Artelier Complication. But I'm open to any other suggestions! Any and all. I have no specific criteria at the moment, so I would like to see all the options I have for a $1000 budget before I narrow it down. Thanks
  15. You, sir, are a stain on humanity. For your own sake, I hope you realize that one day.
  16. I am getting pretty desperate looking for a watchsmith in the Philadelphia area that would work on my DSN Fiddy. I stopped by a few places: one wouldn't absolutely work on it, one would work on it if he could open it, the other would work on it if he knew how! So if you know anyone that I can go in or near the Philadelphia area please let me know. Thanks!
  17. Is it worth the risk/trouble going to a local watchsmith? And how do you even find one (and good one at that)? And how much do you estimate this repair would cost? Thanks.
  18. Hmm, I had my highschool commencement at Villanova too. Small world.
  19. Was afraid of that answer. I hope it wont take as long and cost as much as I think it would be.
  20. Would I able to bring this into a local watchsmith and have it fixed? Or do I need to ship it to someone like The Zigmeister? Can anyone recommend a watchsmith in the Philadelphia area?
  21. Thing is, if I fidget around enough, I am able to wind, but can't change the time! With more fidgeting I get back to the original problem
  22. I have a DSN 127h with Swiss Unitas 6497 movement. It has worked perfectly since August and I have never opened it up.
  23. Everytime I push the crown back in to wind, it won't wind! Instead it will keep changing the time. Is there an easy solution for this?
