  5. I suppose that will work Bob
  6. Whi are J&W? then again at $300 i dont thin i could afford that just for a serial number that only I will see
  7. I am glad you like it The problem with the date wheel looks like the one i originaly had, it is not he date wheel but the movement holder that the dial fits to and which aligns with the crown tube, as you tighten the back of the watch it twists slightly moving the dial with it, I had to glue a small bit of metal in the holder so that it could not twist.
  8. I have never seen one for sale mate and i have looked
  9. I think i have a lot more reading to do but i think i have what i need to make the watch in my head, any one know if any one has managed to re engrave serial numbers?
  10. reported what a POS, people are bidding too!!!!???????
  11. You would have to move the index arm but i would not recommend that with out access to a vibrograph or similar timing devise.
  12. I love that fact also, i have been going blind trying to work out what parts i will need to make a nice 70s 1680 and to be honest i think i can make it just the way i want it and still be authentic, I am not going to be posting pictures on VRF or any other forum and if i meet some one in the street who can say it is not gen (which i will always admit)i will be happy to meet a watch enthusiast (and more than likely a VRF or RWG member)
  13. Actually the day i got it the wife nicked at and wears it with every thing, even a ball gown. She works part time as a chef (professional) and wears it in the kitchen, she wears it in the office and every day with every thing!
  14. White, but it is not, more an ivory
  15. The arm pointing to 7 oclock needs to move down for quicker up for slower but you will not get 30 sec of adjustment out of it.
  16. I have just been reading that site and it is a wealth of information but what a mine field, versions of dials and different printing, letters from comex diver sating that some watches did not have comex on the dials. Luminover dials, GW dials that have had the seadweller reprinted in red by Rolex! Transitional double red dials with GW case backs, wow
  17. Yep silty that is the one just like that, but i think i will be using a 2846 and MBW dial for a while until i can find A the cash B a gen movement C a gen dial I think i will relume the MBW dial and hands with white tritec SL
  18. Silty just stunning :thumbsupsmileyanim: :thumbsupsmileyanim:
  19. What i am aiming for, if i can engrave a low 3mill serial number than it would be 1970 with a non hacking movement, a white service replacement dial sill some lume
  20. Thanks Tribal i may just look for one if this was to be a 1970 but had been serviced then a white dial is possible with a 703 crown and a 93150 bracelet and 580 endlinks (going this route as i prefer the parts and the look and they will be easier to get) also i want white not yellow markers and hands. Has any one got a puretime 1665 and changed the movement and date wheel??? I want your old date wheel
