Steinhart Watches - What's your Opinion of them?
fotoman replied to sgtguk's topic in General Discussion
I don't think that steinhart is a step up from invicta. Actually was very impressed with some invicta's I've seen. Fossil wasnt a nock, freakin swatch makes a ton of cool brands. Info based on this article on cw forums. I'd get the jump hr if I had the cash http://www.christopherwardforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=8496 Wanna see a real innovative uk brand? Learned about these guys over vaca http://www.bremont.com/ -

Steinhart Watches - What's your Opinion of them?
fotoman replied to sgtguk's topic in General Discussion
Don't let me stop you its just that everytime i like one of these watches- Christopher Ward has a limited edition jump hour at around 1k which looks sweet - i go back and look at the reps and these and the rep tends to win. There is a Hamilton Pilots for 400 i've looked at, steinhart has a nice jump hour for like 100%$ But, its the eye of the beholder - there are tons of people here that go nuts over a particular watch that i probably wouldn't pick up on the sidewalk if it were sitting there - and I'm sure there are many who might think the same of pieces I like. it is what it is. - Enjoy. 1 Piece of advice you might think about is, checking the resale value - what do they sell for on ebay or other watch forums. If you get it and decide its not for you, can you return it? amazon.com has 60day mandatory return policy for all vendors. Or can you sell it and get something else. -
Love wakeing up with coffee on the balcony. FYI Coffee is the name i used to dance under at the bunny ranch

And the mandatory wrist shot

ok, this wont be expensive fo rme then. JUST FYI, I wont know your info, i can't see it. Hard Rock will be able to send you stuff until you unlike them in a week. they have 130,000 votes as of 3 days ago, worldwide, I hardly think they will care about a few random chaps that voted. So - Feel Free to vote, no downside, -
Yeah it was cool. I got to eat more than frozen pizza - so that was good. I go on ALOT of cruises cause my parents sell them. It's hard for me to totally enjoy luxuries when I don't know how to keep the basics in life covered. (between my parents "favors" at the cruise line and maxing out their credit cards, I didn't pay a dime . ) The kids had a great time and this was about my mom's bday and them. They want $200 for the keys. - I don't have 200$ - this is so [censored] up. I have a car with 1 payment and 6 weeks of use left. I need that cash (even if I had it) for a car. Hopefully i will pick up this job this week. It will also help if I can pull some votes for my band and that heart burn will go away. This thing is stupid important and votes are pulling teeth. Can you post in the fundraiser thread? To encourage others to jump on board?

Steinhart Watches - What's your Opinion of them?

You get better value IMHO on reps, but, I am thinking about the jump hour. They are made in china just like all of these watches. I'd put dollars to doughnuts they are millionsmart built. Google it- it's a a good thing to know about. -
Ok, here are the rules: My band is in an online competition to get into a talent contest. We need votes just to get the band heard. 1. I need this for video to create a music video and 2 if we win, we play in front of 100,000 people in Hyde park this summer. The vote is on facebook. I will pay 1$ to RWG for every vote received. Were on the honor system as there is no way for me to track votes, other than I know what votes we are working on here, and if 50 or 100 say you voted and were still at 75 votes anyway. It takes less than 2 minutes - post your success to this thread. HOW TO MAKE IT WORK In order to make it count for our regional competition you must: 1. have a Facebook acct (they are free) 2. Go into your facebook profile and set your "current city" to Miami Florida (you can be in thailand, doesn't matter) (tech support available, just ask) 3. go to this link http://www.facebook.com/hardrockcafehollywoodfl?sk=app_205164529573076&app_data=artist:916332 4. Download the song by 13th floor (hit download button) 5. There will be a pop up that asks you to "like" hard rock cafe Hollywood. (don't worry about the privacy notice, just hit ok, you can unlike them next week and they won't have your info) 6. You will see a message thanks for voting. Please keep the "like" and your "current city" till next Sunday This could be the one that changes my life, in many ways. I need this more than ever. I can't ask or thank you enough.

The big ones aren't hurting for a good steak dinner now and then. Randy is right, before the time of super reps 100% markup was the general going rate. But that doesn't include returns defective ect. Thats built into the price. Some dealers will make a large purchase on new items I'm sure they get a quantity discount. But the factories are the winners today. They still pay 3 piece of rice and 8 ounces of water a day to the workers, - only those lucky enough to be over 8yrs old, the younger just wait In the shadows till they see a weaker child they can pounce on and take the rice. My guess - based on insider # are 20-25% after defects problems loss leaders. Now, that doesn't include anyone they have to grease to make things happen. And, there are huge risks in moving that sort or material anywhere, - thieves, customs, inside guy leaking a few out. We doent know their volume and my guess is u less you take them to dinner in person your not going to get even an estimate. - now you know why they get pissy about a slightly mis-aligned Lume dot. yeah, were paying $$ that we consider real and feel we should demand perfection. But, they aren't see huge profit from that watch and they could go to jail (let's just say its possible because I know it is) plus your getting much more in a watch, super Lume, double AR ceramics - seriously where can you get that stuff in a no name brand for what were paying? You could build,I did it, it's expensive and risky and your not sure if you will like it.

I had the best f'in time today. Was in Falmouth jamacia. (if anyone I spoke with is on the forum let me know) I had my sin pvd with HKTAN strap. Right off the boat they have these new mini malls. So i went to browse watches as usual. When I walked into the shops, instead of the manager honing in on me, like if I have an AP or something. This time I got the watch nit enthusiast. 3 diff places. And in one the manager wants to buy my pens I spent 2 hrs chatting with watch nuts. Found some really awesome new brands, I will have more on that when I get back. Jerome what's his face with watch dials with actual moon dust. But, I had a ball, didn't mention reps but I did tell them about custom strap makers, had photos of my el skawronek and Pam 666 projects. Tried on some pams. The gens always seem smaller in person and mad shiny. Nice selection across the board. It was a genuine Watch enthusiast swapping info.

Well, I was being subtle with the drink photo. Last night sailed past Guantanamo Bay. - didn't see anyone being tortured. About to go gen window shopping in jamacia

I totally understand man, I appreciate it, I really do. I just wanted to lay out the basic facts to contextualize the other comments. "this is not a battle imthink that we can win". (star wars 1) This dude is apparently 40 according to his profile. OTHER DUDES. Chill out with the "this thread needs to be closed". There is no reason to close the thread. The admin team is quite wise, I have known most of them for 6 yrs. This is just another example of where The world appears to be flipped in its head. Forum members with 10/15,000 posts and 20yrs on the forum are disagreeing with dudes that have been here for 2 weeks and 3 yrs and other newbs feel inclined to pray for the thread to be locked. This is what I was talking about with the emasculation. I would never had dreamed of butting I. This type of situation. Even of you thought the old guys were nothing but trouble. It's the same attitude that someone being on the forum for 2 weeks would feel the authority to mock community rules. Feel like I've landed in an alternate universe. One that looks like mine, but made by Chinese workers making 2 cents an hour Big A - fear not, phoband will be dead soon, but the dude behind the mask will still be available to friends.
-
I hear ya, and I remember those days, tuff times. I don't think the dude meant harm with the jeweler. It was the brazen and belligerent attitude tword some who told him (for those not keeping up at home) 1. I just got back from a jeweler he had no idea my watch was a rep. I've already targeted a new dealer to hit next week. 2. Hey man, I need to point out that taking your rep into an AD is frowned upon 3. What, if i take 1 watch into a jeweler the world will fall apart? 4. Here is a copy if the rule, here is a thread where it's discussed more 5. I'm not violating the rules, I went to a jeweler not an ad 6. Alright man, but I think AD is part of it. Either way, you won't make many friends here, if you want to continue doing it 7. Well, friends can't tell me what to do, no one can tell me what to do. 8. Phoband called him names says he is ungrateful as you come take our info and refuse to play by the rules. It goes on, I don't think locking this thread is a good idea. I think there IS important talk, like how to behave. You follow the rules. Don't tell me how ridiculous they are, I didn't write them. Don't try to lawyer out of them, don't attack me re them. What's happened is you guys have empowered him and marginalized me (even more) whatever, I don't really care anymore. Due to recent developments, I will likely be killing phoband soon. US movements against online dealings are a serious signal.
-
You didn't read. I didn't come down on him until he started insulting me. I pointed out it was against the rules, I pointed out that doing these things would not make him friends, good luck. Thats coming down on him hard? Whatever, I'm dedicating no more time. Justasgood. I've been apart of and effected by these little insurgencies. You have a kid, they grow up and spit in your face. Frankly I was just shocked as regardless of rules, it is unprecedented decorum in a forum. I've never see anything like it.
-
I was surprised when everyone told me to can it and drink a beer. From my perspective very very nicely trying to help a newb, who was heading down the wrong path. I didn't personal until started insulting me and fighting with me about how no one tells him what to do and that he hasn't broken the rule. I even told him that, seriously? This is a social contract, come here to get the info and you agree to follow the forums rules. Not running around to see if jewelers, and watchmakers knew he had a rep. Didn't that was really asking to much. He continued to be belligerent. Guys been here for 2 weeks. He showed contempt for the forum rules, me, and twotone. I think the dude is a problem. The rest of it is up to you guys. I think if you read it through, my response was appropriate. I also think most folks, like me most of the time, don't want to have to read the book to see how this rolls. I'm done again, I can't take it anymore wasting my time trying to help people and being cropped on by newbs who seem to think they know what's up and it's their Assylum to run. CNY is almost over, I will have new focus
