  1. Hi all...

Well, what was gonna happen happened...

After almost 2 and a half years of service, my trusty (and cheap) 21J Planet Ocean no longer works properly.

It picks up plenty of time (sometimes an hour) over a 24 hour period and that's only if I wear it since the power reserve is now absimal.

What do you say ? salvageable or not ? If yes, what am I looking in terms of cost and where could I have it done !?

    Thanks

  2. I had one of these Chinese tourbillons sometime back. While not an automatic, it was a fantastic watch, and the tourby cage spinning in the aperture was just mesmerizing to look at.

If I were more of a dress watch kind of guy, I'd have kept it, no doubt.

    yes.. !

That's it.. I had forgot it was a tourbillon. Even better...

do you remember what it was called and where you got it ?

  3. Hi guys,

Today, my leather band came off my wrist. When I took the spring bar out of the band, I noticed it snapped in two pieces.

My watch is an Omega PO 42.5mm rep.

I believe the width at the lugs is 20mm.

Will any spring bar work as a replacement ?

Where can I purchase replacements spring bars ?

Ideally, I would purchase a small amount... I saw assortments of 400 pcs on ebay... seems crazy since all I need is one, maybe two in case the other one breaks soon.

    Thanks for your help.

  4. "The global economic downturn will conversely trigger a higher demand for replica goods."

Not sure I necessarily agree with this statement.

This week on the news up in Montreal, their envoy to China made a story on how much the sales of counterfeit good was affected by the downturn. They were primarily talking about painting replicas and showing streets full of Van Gogh's that are usually packed with people and they were deserted now.

Not sure if this will also be true for watches. But I think in a downturn, people tend to cut unnecessary spending... and watches (gen or rep) are unnecessary to most people :)

In a way, I'm hoping that holds true and demand goes down a bit. This way all those $400+ super reps may come down in price a bit :)

  5. Hi guys...

I am looking for a Burberry scarf replica.

When using Google I get lots of links but if it's like all those scam sites for watches, it's not good.

Anybody here knows a trustworthy place where I could find this?

    Thanks

  6. I have a cheap rep of the PO.

    It's a 42.5mm with 21j movement that I paid just over $100 about 4 months ago.

I like the watch overall. It's keeping good time and it doesn't scream fake too much (for most people anyway :) )

However, I do have an issue with it now.

The clasp no longer works. The 2 push buttons you need to press to unlock the clasp were so hard to push in, I actually had to use a pair of pliers to push them in.

After doing that, I was able to take the watch off but now the buttons are pushed in and won't come out. As a result the clasp won't lock anymore.

If there a way to fix this?

I saw some replacement clasps on Ofrei but at $150 each, they are worth more than my whole watch.. seems a little crazy to me.

Perhaps someone sells a better quality rep clasp for cheaper?

    Thanks for your help.

  7. Can anybody tell me, what a diver's extention is?

The diver extension is the smaller clasp that closes "under" the main clasp.

If it's open, you'll end up removing way more links than needed and will have to put them back in order to close the extension.

  8. I had the same issue with the same watch not that long ago.

I ended up taking it somewhere to be adjusted. The guy that did it actually had to struggle a bit to get the pins out.

I was told that if you do it yourself, you need to use a pin pusher and push really in straight line or else it would break the pusher.

The watchsmith that did mine actually had to hammer the pins out.

FYI, they are pins, not screws.

  9. Hi guys...

I figured that some of you have experience dealing with obscure Chinese company due to the nature of our hobby.

    Perhaps you can help me.

    I saw this on Alibaba.com:

    http://www.alibaba.com/product-gs/20667845...Z_computer.html

This computer sells for about $2,200 in North America.

I contacted the company selling that computer and he told me he can sell 1 unit for $840 + $30 shipping.

I asked him if it was a genuine Apple product and his answer was yes. Brand new genuine Apple.

The seller is a gold member of Alibaba and everything.. does this make sense?

Usually Apple has a pretty solid lock down on prices for their product. How can those companies sell it for less than half the price.

Would you guys take the chance or not?

    Thanks for your help!

  10. I think they're both good choices. The Chopard is a great replica for the money in my opoinion, I have heard lots of positive things about it. As for the SOSF, you will not be disappointd, two very well priced and good looking watches!

Trusty has the Chopard for just a hair above $100 and actually mentions it has a synthetic sapphire with AR...

I thought it was hard to beat...

Interestingly enough, his SFSO is $60 more but only has a mineral crystal with no mention of AR.

Do you guys know why there would be what seems to be somewhat of a discrepancy ?

The IWC Ingenieur aren't really my cup of tea. Maybe they'll grow on me just like the PAMs did. At first I didn't really see what the fuss was about with PAM and now the 111h is high up on my hit list.
