  1. Congrats Frankie. HauteHippie's AR is worth the wait.

IMP, the Bezel lume is a must have on the Slevin. In Macro shots the lume looks heavy but to the eye while wearing the watch is looks great - and the lume is well worth it.

Here is mine with HH AR, The Zigmeister lume and Gen ETA 7750 heartbeat

Having seen your photo it might just have to have another trip overseas thumbsupsmileyanim.gif

  2. Last year I bought an SA with the white dial and after a few weeks I sold it as I decided the SA was a bit big and white dials were'nt really me.

Since then I found I was missing the SA so have bought another and sent it off the Vac for a dial change to a genuine black baton dial and the hands/bezel to get matching lume. So heres the photo. sorry if its not a great pic as I am no David Bailey and it was taken in a hurry but I will take some better ones latter along with a lume shot.

The chrono hour hand at 6 looks like its misaligned but its now reset perfectly at the 12 mark.

Its now a keeper once I get use to the weight and my gorilla strap on a Pro Racer buckle arrives :)

  3. Its been a long old wait but now its back on my wrist its been well worth it.

Its been documented about the delay in the AR process which was no ones fault but the long wait has been worth it.

I sent it off in July last year for HH's AR, vac's lume and to have a genuine date wheel fitted. This is my first watch that I have had the HH AR applied to and all I can say is ....................... its amazing thumbsupsmileyanim.gif

The photo below is before I sent the watch off.

This next photo is after the love and attention which Vac and HH have spent on it.

This is definately a keeper, I now just have to decide whether to get the bezel lumed. I have seen a slevin with the bezel lumed but its looks abit strange as it looked like a heavy coating of lume. I welcome opinions and feedback before I decide. I am in no rush to decide as I can't seem to take it off my wrist biggrin.gif

  4. There still is no better option on the market... the ultimate is by far the closest to Gen but the AR is a bit too blue and the AR will vary from batch to batch... DSN will sell you his new one piece crystal which has 7mm cyclops and has less "Halo" but isn't as good in mag or look but better than everything else available and you can send it to be AR coated since it's one piece and not sandwich construction. Technically the 089 should have a 6.75mm cyclops and 088s would have the 7mm... If you want the Ultimate crystal you'll have to buy the whole watch and part out everything you don't want...

which isn't too hard to do being that the ultimate has the best date wheel and the ultimate case set is very desirable.

I need a bit of clarification regarding the crystal, can the cartel crystal and cyclops have the ar removed ?
If both the DSN and the cartel can have the AR from the cycops removed then which is the best and would it be better to send the crystal to say HauteHippie to work his magic??
  5. Ploprof is def going to come soon. Was to be launced before CNY. Also Breitling Chronomat B01 is due... :Jumpy:

I've got the feeling 2010 is going to be an expensive year for me :whistling:

I can't buy into the Ploprof as its not my thing but the Breitling is absolutely gorgeous, might just have to sell one of my modded watches to fund one when it comes out!!!!!! Love It

  6. Thanks for the updates guys and the nice comments.

Your're right. I got my metals mixed up titanium and tantalum:). Thanks for the pointer on the date font. Have not seen a V2 or V3 rep (that I am aware of) do you know who stocks them and do they have an Ice bang? Would be good to see some pics so I know what to look for next time.

re - the watch stores. Both were pretty dark. One was in Vegas, a small store in Cesars, not the large Tourneau. The other was an official Hublot dealership. The bezels seemed really dark, as did the numbers on the face. Could be the 'lack' of lighting I guess.

One thing that seems to be for sure is the inconsistency in gen Hublot watches. Even the same models seem to vary a lot. Then again I kind of like that...

Oh, btw - Frankie - who modded your watch. Nice job?

    A

Francisco in Spain did it, excellent guy to deal with and very quick. Cannot recommend him highly enough

  7. Well, ive bitten the bullet and ordered a DSN 088, this was before I read Kbiz post regarding the watch so will be interested to see what turns up, will post photos for comment and feedback. Watch this space!!!

  8. Hi all Pam fans. I have finally decided to bite the bullet on a new Pam 088 and am waiting to hear from DSN regarding buying one from him.

Can anyone give me some feedback who have purchased his 088 as I have researched it and come up with mixed conclusions which are, however wrong they might be as follows:-

DSN has the best dial with the secondhand dial being the most correct but the Crown and guard arent as good as the cartel

The cartel Ultimate is a better watch but the dial isnt as good.

I think I will go with the DSN if he gets back to me as I can always mod the CG but I would love to hear from people who own either.

    Over to you guys

  9. First post. Apologies in advance if i'm breaking any rules.

Any recommendations for where I can pick up a good, real titanium PAM 177 and 240 in the UK?

I would also be hugely appreciative if anyone can suggest what I should look to avoid.

From what I've read I gather DSN supplies the best titanium cases - is that correct? Does he ship to the UK and are there any pitfalls in doing that?

Trusty Time seem to offer two versions of the 177 at $178 and $350 odd. Is the more expensive rep considerably better? Both are within budget. again, any pitfalls in shipping to the UK?

    Help greatly appreciated.

    .

Talk to PT at http://www.precioustime-uk.com/. I buy most of my reps off him, He ships from the UK (London) and is a top guy to deal with. Delivery is within 2 weeks normally and the quality is superb as is his after sales backup.

  10. I love the look of white faces but for some reason I dont like the look of them on my wrist.

I recently bought a SA in white and at the same time bought a gen white baton dial to do a swap project but ended up selling them both.

    IMG_0935.jpg

I keep playing with the idea of another white dial but havent found one I feel comfortable with although I do like the Pam dial.

    Watch this space!!! :pardon:

  11. Hi all, hope you are having a nice NY Eve/Day.

So I recently became enamored of the new oversized case Rollies and decided to get a GMT IIc with the new 316F steel, I just think it's a really sharp looking watch.

I was thinking of whom to get it from, as I don't really have a preferred dealer. I looked at Prowatch-polo's reviews, of which there are none, then I did a search for Prowatch and came upon some positive posts about him. I liked his very clear photos of the GMT IIc in his webstore.

Decided to give him a chance, he seems to be somewhat under-utilized here, maybe he will give me really good service so I would post a positive review about him and generate some business for him.

I just e-mailed him asking if he can get the watch with an ETA 2836-2 movement instead of the asian clone Rolex 3186, which I've read is iffy. I will also ask for photos of the watch I will be getting (along with a small piece of paper in the pic with my name on it) so I can see what I will get.

I'm excited about this watch, it's a bit more unusual than the usual Submariners.

Wish me luck with Prowatch, I'll give a thorough review of his service and product when I get it.

    Hi

Have you got his web address as I cant seem to find it on google, or it could just be my New Years hangover and blurred vision!!!!

  12. Is it just that I am unlucky or are more and more watches having a lack of Quality Control.

I am not particularly talking about the Cartel but dealers that say they do QC before sending them out.

I am not getting at anyone in particular as the dealers I use are all very good and have worked very hard to correct all problems, but the last 4 watches I,ve had all have had QC issues.

    1. Porsche Flat 6 - chrono hand is very difficult to reset if its been running for more than a few minutes and the crown is very wobbly when pulled out.

    2. Breitling Super Avenger. Stopped shortly after I got it and had to go to a repairers

    3. Pam 111. The amazing backwards ticking watch (video posted on this site) This is now resolved

    4. U-Boat. This arrived with a cracked crystal. Put this down to bad handling in transit but the main issue was the hour hand did,nt line up on the hour mark but halfway between the hour marks. Watch sent back.

As previously said, I have no issues with the dealers after sales care as they have always helped which is why I use them, however apart from the cracked crystal most of the above faults could of been avoided with correct QC.

I know QC issues are part of the world of reps and perhaps I,ve just been unlucky but I now open a new parcel with anticipation of a problem rather than joy of a new watch.

Suppose its my advancing years I,m begining to be a cup half empty kind of guy.

Dealers please help me get my confidence back for my 2010 purchses :) Everyone have a wonderful Christmas :thumbsupsmileyanim:

  14. I just got my SA and have a question on the bezel, my Skyland Avenger bezel is fairly tight with a nice solid sounding click when you turn it as opposed to my SA which by contrast sounds very tinny.

Is this typical of a V2 SA or have I got a duff one ??

    Thanks Gang

  15. Bought this 28.8 Ceramic V1 from PT a month ago and since then its been forwards and backwards for mods which have corrected the mistakes which the factory send them out with, H Sticker, regulator, rotor bearing mods and wrong screws.

I owe a big thank you to kimerathon for pointing out the Ice Bang never had black screws and supplying me with the part numbers for the correct screws and supplier, I would also say a big thank you to Francisco for his fine work and being very easy to deal with.

I appreciate that some people cannot see the point as the caseback cannot be seen when you wear the watch but as it has a display back its nice to have it looking as authentic as possible, isnt that why we buy and mods rep watches, to represent as accurately as possible the original watch. It might only be me but once I know that there is an obvious difference it nags at me and I do get enjoyment from sending watches off getting modded for my own benefit and NOT so I can past it off as a genuine!!!, judging by the emails I read and how busy the likes of Vac, HauteHippie and The Zigmeister are, im not the only one!!!!!!

    So, one to the pics

  16. Just bought myself an SA which I intend to Franken with a PRO2 and a dial swap over to a genuine.

My question for those that have done it, do you get the hands lumed to match the genuine dial lum in brightness and colour or are they the same.

    Thanks in advance.

I dont seem to be happy with just a rep, seem to enjoy sending them across continents for modding and going months before actually getting to wear them, strange that!!! :Jumpy:

  17. Looking at getting an SA next and just abit concerned about the size, I can carry off my PO full size no problem but the SA is quite abit bigger, so calling for lots of wrist shots so I can see how it sits + requests if anyone is selling their SA in White, :cc_scooter:
