  1. Hi all, I just saw another post about someone losing a Pearl and looking for a replacement. This reminded me of something. I bought an UPO from Silix and really loved the watch until the Pearl fell off. I told Silix and they were kind enough to send me two Bezel inserts (one Orange / One Black). I want a black bezel. I have them about a year but am paralysed about trying t do something with it. So my question a) Does the Bezel remove easily. Does the whole Bezel and bit its in/on top of (the whole thing that twists - don't know the correct terms) have to come off c) Do I have to buy a special tool to do this? d) Is it hard to get off and hard to get back on again e) Would I be crazy to attempt to do this? f) How about cutting the Pearl off the new Bezel and supergluing to where its missing at the moment - would that be a non-runner? Any advice would be welcomed Kind Regards Debbie
  2. Hi Spooky, I don't know of one yet. I'm in Ireland so its a small place. I don't know how fussy they are. Say in your country what would someone charge for such a job. I dont know if it would be cheaper to try and get a replacement. I love that watch so much. Kind Regards Debbie
  3. Hi all, I dropped my beloved Panerai Daylight Chrono this morning on the floor. It hit face down. I picked it up and it looked okay but at a second look the second hand at 9 was no longer at 9. It was floating around the bottom of the watch. I was wondering how big a deal would it be to get it fixed. The movement I guess is an Asian 7750 (some Asian movement anyway). I don't know whether the hand was screwed on , pressed on or sort of welded on. Would it be repairable (easily). I know nothing in detail about watches and have never opened one. I am wondering if it would be cheaper to replace than bring to a shop to be repaired (and would they be able to repair them anyway. From reading this site hand and things can be very delicate on reps).
  4. Thanks guys for your help. I've looked at the tutorial. That pretty scary to me. There are more parts than I expected. I am afraid of not being able to put it all back together. One thing I noted. I have been sent a "Bezel Insert" if thats the correct term that has a pearl attached. The one in the tutorial the pearl seems to be stuck to the watch and the Bezel insert fits over it. Would you still follow the same strategy. Is it possible to get the Bezel Insert out without taking the Bezel off (I don't like the look of all the bits that come with taking it out - I might have trouble putting them back together). A second question is what type of glue can be used. I was going to use run of the mill superglue. There seems to be a strange type of glue used in the tutorial that is unknown to me. If I cut the Pearl from the Bezel Insert and superglue it to the hole I have in my current bezel insert what are the chances it will stay stuck? Kind Regards Debbie.
  5. Hi all, I bought an Omega UPO (not the orange version). After a while the Pearl fell out. I asked the vendor to send me a spare pearl that I could glue on. They kindly sent me something but it wasn't exactly what I was looking for. What they send me was the bit that the pearl is stuck to I don't know the proper name (the bezel?) anyway its the bit with the numbers on it 20, 30 , 40 , 50. So I have a metal disk. I have a choice I can either try to pop the pearl out - it seems to be well stuck on. I could try to cut it out as well. or I can try and replace the "bezel top" What would people recommend. How do I remove the "bezel top" from the watch without damaging everything and how do I put on the new "Bezel top". Is it superglued or does it clip in. I afraid of making a complete hash of it. The picture isn't my watch, its just to show which watch I am talking about. Any advice would be appreciated. Kind Regards Debbie
  6. Thanks for the reply. I don't fully understand. Whats an aftermarket insert as opposed to a pearl glued onto the bezel. Which dealers would sell a "pearl" for an UPO. Kind Regards Debbie
  7. Hi all, I have an UPO watch and the pearl has fallen off. This watch has a long saga behind it. Its the second one I have. I sent the first one back and had to wait 6 months to get it back. But I didn't get back the one I sent but another one. On both the first and second watch the pearl at 12 O'Clock fell off. From the space thats left it almost look like its only a plastic sticker (it was luminous). Is there anywhere I can get some replacement pearls that I could superglue on? I will contact the vendor again and ask them for a pearl (or pearls). But if they say no I am wondering if there are other options. The watch doesn't look the same without the pearl. Kind Regards Debbie
  8. Thanks everyone. Its good to get a list of European dealers that can be trusted.
  9. Hi all I was wondering if anyone ever purchased from www.topswiss.co.uk It pops as a google ad in RWG. I see the sticky mail about all the spoof sites. This didn't appear to be on that list so I was wondering if it was genuine and any good Kind Regards Debbie
  10. Hi All, Just to explain to a newbie. What does the DSN stand for. I assume its a manufacturer or vendor. Where can you actually find them. Is there a website or somewhere through here. You all seem to understand each other but the lingo is new to me. It looks a lovely watch and I'd like to find one. Thanks Debbei
  11. Hi all, I am a newbie and an wondering where you buy such replicas. Who is "king" and how to you buy from them. How much would you pay for such a nice watch. Any advice? Thanks Debbie
  12. Hi I loved your review As a newbie to this site its very hard to follow the lingo people use here. What I was wondering is where one could get such a watch at a reasonable price from a reliable and good quality supplier. I know its all about how much you are prepared to pay. Could someone give me a idea of how much you would pay for a watch of similar quality to what is shown in this great review. Thanks Debbie "Excellent review and I now know I want it even more... Hopefully I'll soon hear from my rep dealer. " Who would be a rep dealer?
