I develop a rash whenever I wear rep leather straps. Dunno why.

Mine does turn in both directions and I believe (correct me if I am wrong) that the gen is bidirectional as well. Lume is supposed to emulate the tritium lume which should not glow. Cheers S181

You reckon they'll sell just the dial? I need that dial for my 7753 250. If some one just wants the movt for a teardown, we can share the cost...hehehe

Not too excited about the movt itself until someone does a teardown but the dial would be a good upgrade to my 7753 250. Smaller subsials = more accurate than the 7753 250 dials out there in the market. Other than that, the bezel does not look like the higher bezel found on ELs 7750

I have a very resourceful modder where I am at and I tell you, my 1655 2893 project is an absolute nightmare. If you think about using Yuki dials for the 1655 project, you are going to need the taller cannon pins, hour wheels etc coz the standard on the 2893 will not be able to clear the dial. Yuki dials are thick. That's just a start. You mugh have to customize the movt retainer rings. I am about to give up on this project. Any one wants a 2893-2 movt with some spare parts from ofrei. I'd give a good price.

Just when I talked myself out of buying this one... Okay.. That's it. I am gonna sell one of my reps to fund this.

Nice watch... the cannon pin does protrude a fair bit now doesn't it? You guys reckon its possible to flatten, sand down and high polish the cannon pin or will that just damage the cannon pin? Me and some mates are about to pull the trigger on DSN's updated 25A. SO any opinions will be appreciated.

Everything is possible with a little bit elbow grease. Higher wheels for the hands, a new movt holder for the slimmer 2893, correct hands for the posts... Anything is possible... just not that easy.

Common mistake among the watch builders is that they assume that they can just drop a movt and poooff, you have a watch. A watch is a sophisticated, intricate mechanism with very acute tolerances. I bought one of fxrandy's 2893 with the intention to build a 063. When I could not find a good case, I decided on a Rollie Mcqueen. That was in April I believe and I am still sourcing for the higher hour wheel. Its a long haul process to find parts even if they are not obsolete. the EL 029 is obsolete and in Mickey's case, he gotten a Honpo 029, which in my simple mind means keep it until somebody robs it off you.
